Default What's needed to beat a GSXR1000?

I have a loud mouth at work talking about how fast his bike is. I have a few mods going on this winter that should put me around 700hp and a weight loss program of about 2-300lbs. The bike is suppost to have exhaust, CAI, blah, blah, blah, and a shot of gas. Would I stand a chance, or would I be better off letting my buddy and his 900 horse Z28 slam his ***? This will be from a dig only!

That's the very general consensus. 700hp will not be enough for a 1000, but you should be able to put a hurting on a 600.

A modded GSXR1000 and it's sprayed? He's right, it's fast. I wouldn't bother trying. I wouldn't let it bother me either though, it's a bike, it's not really comparable.

You don't need 700hp for 600's... I was walking them with 525/520 with my STS car, I have the rider(s) to prove it

Off bottle 1k, you will need at least 850-900 for a stock 1k... A good rider will put up a fight though. Bikes are the only reason I built my car

A mondern 600 doesn't take "much" to beat but good luck on a 1000.

My sprocket/exhaust 600 went 10.7@125 mph.
My exhaust only 1000 went 10.10@143mph.

These times are at 2500+ DA, where stock LS1s run 13.9s all day.

Beating a bike on the street from a dig is just about impossible with a competent rider, because you can launch a bike the same on the street and track. Good luck hooking up a 1000hp car perfectly from a dig on any random street.

I think my car is going to be a good race for a stock 600 while i'm around 500rwhp, and I'll be spraying a 200 shot to beat up on older 1000s or bikes without the best rider. Don't get me wrong, if you dont know your bike or can't ride for **** it is very easy to lose to a much slower car. Noob mistakes like shifting with the clutch, wheelies without lifting, and not being able to slip the clutch to launch properly all take experience to get rid of.

If you're talking about a boltons AND sprayed bike.. you're in for a world of hurt. Keep in mind, 1st gear on a GSXR 1000 goes just over 100mph... he wont even have to shift to put a couple buses on you.

Thats why I said, "put a hurting on a 600". I am just saying if he wants to beat a bike, go play with 600's.

Die in a fire **** ***.

OP, I haven't ever been beaten on my CBR1000 on the street. I've let off because of traffic and gotten the ricer flyby, but never beaten. FWIW I ran a 10.4 at 140 not launching hard at all.

That GSXR is a 9 flat bike at 150+. Neither you nor your buddy's Z should beat it on the street or track.

While this is only partially related to the OPs post, I ******* LOL when people say they have beaten bikes before. Especially liter bikes. Even funnier when they say they "hung" with them.

Really? You think your H/C f-body was really much of a challenge to even a newer 600 bike? While I know it happens, and people truly do drive some fast cars, I usually err on the side of probability.

Rider means a lot. I have stayed a few cars behind a 600 from 45-110 cuz he couldn't ride for ****. I am sure you and me could find some squids around the campus and hurt their feelings dude. But competent rider...Typically I would say a stout H/C f body with a 150 hit should stay/hang/beat a stock 600, rider depending.

Well sure with a 150 hit That put's them around the 600 rwhp mark

I have actually beaten a 600 bike with a super shitty rider before, but it was an old *** 95 CBR :/

Hahaha. I am sure I can race Violent_Celity (whatever it is) from this site and beat him, but I wouldn't really be proud of it. 12.5 at like 105 or 108. 600 Bandit . Though at this point in time, he does have the ET on me
