I would expect 460-480rwhp from it.

Here's a similar combo we did that made 500rwhp, but it was the LS3 short-block (more bore size = more flow and compression as compared to the LS2).

https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...-000-mods.html

I'd guess closer to 480ish as well with the LS2 short-block!

If drivability is not an issue with high rpm power(lack of low end power) then you can go with a bigger Cam(cut the pistons) and rev the **** out of it.

Also the 05's are not very fun to tune in.

More cam = Flycutting pistons too

Just do heads, cam, fast 102 and a pulley and the car will be a beast.

Btw That texas speed kit is a awsome price but that cam is alittle on the BIG side for driveablity.

That cam has one or two degrees more overlap than the cam in your CTS-V....not too big by any means, and the street manners are actually really good with it after a good tune!

Or just do a blower and make 550-600rwhp.

The Cam is alittle bigger but the heads affect the drivability and power.I'm sure it's fine but to get the most you would want compression to be raised a bit which will require cutting the pistons. This is to get to the 500rwhp mark.

I wish there was something more I could do besides changing out the heads or cam to achieve the 500 mark.. almost there..

i got a iron 6.0L setup with L92's and a 24x cam. Carb/efi intake...

anyways, it makes over 500whp. drives pretty well on the street.

BUT it LOVES RPM's. I shift it 7800.

So yeah, it can be done. but just not easy.

I was kind of surprised when I saw all of these guy's saying that it would be difficult to make over 500 hp with a head and cam package ....Go to LG Motorsports website or even lingenfelters websites and you will see plenty of 05-07 C6's that are making in excess of 500 hp with a
Head(L92's) & cam (G6X3) L76 Intake and headers .... I have seen a few of these and actually drove a few of these vettes and they are wicked ...Hope this info helps

No disrespect to you shawn...you guy's are at the top of the foodchain for making power and building fantastic motors .....I just saw all the post and thought Wow , this is not difficult at all if you are stating out with 400+hp at the crank with a LS2 motor ...I would say that 550 crank HP is definitely doable with the L92 Heads and the L76 intake along with the correct cam and headers he will be good to go...

My cam-only set up made 480rwhp on SNL's dyno. They are in the middle of putting together a kit for guaranteed 500+rwhp on an LS2. One of the guys there made 500+ through cats with their cam and PRC 227 heads. It is possible. The cam I'm running is a little bigger than the one listed, and the car is my DD. It make great power, and is a breeze to drive, but I had a good tuner too. One thing to watch out for with the L92 heads and a big cam is the need for fly-cutting the pistons. Stick with a set of CNC'd 243's or aftermarket heads, and a healthy cam, and you will reach your goal.

I think that you are better off going with a local shop that has a reputation like a VS or TS or Ling etc. These guy's will get you where you want to be and your goal is very doable on the $4000.00 to $4500.00 budget .....

Make sure you go with someone that has been around a while and has a good following of customers that speak very highly of the speed shop .....

Good luck !
