Question What kind of times should I be able to run with my new car?

I've tried a search on finding this answer but anything to do with the hotcam people just stray away from it like the plague or something. Either way, I bought a new SS (with the hotcam already installed) and am taking it to a 1000 ft track tomorrow night. I'm just curious to know what kind of numbers I can expect with this set up. Everything on the car is in my sig. I will be running on 17x11 TT2's with sumitomo 315/35/17, so I kind of figure traction to be an issue before I ever even get started. Thanks for any input guys.

if you can get out of the hole high to mid 12s. The main reason people stay away from the hot cam is because there are so many better cams for the money. Changing cams is a lot of work to just put a baby cam in. you will make a little more power with the hot cam but not a whole lot.

Yeah, I know there are better hp making cams out there but I'm leaving in a month for basic training (ARMY) and don't feel like doing the swap before I leave. I assume you guys are telling me 1/4 mile times which really don't help me but why would it only be a high 12 car. Don't the ls1's run high 12 - low 13 stock? I was thinking low, low 12 or high 11 1/4 times. Maybe I was mistaken or just high hopes. Especially since I just sold a lt1 hotcam full bolt on , a4, 2.73 car that ran 11.03@96mph in the 1000 ft. I figured this car would cream that time. We'll see I guess.

If you had a 3600 or 4000 stall with some drag radials low 12 should be attainable. maybe 11s. Traction is going to be the problem you dont put down times by spinning.

mickey thompson = 1.9 and less 60ft

sumitomo = 2.2 and higher 60 ft

Just an up date for what time I was able to ring out of her. All mods are in sig and I was running on a a sumitomo tire. Best pass of the night was at 8:25pm, 64 degrees, and the tracks about 600-700 ft elevation. Just a rough guess on the elevation, but I know its somewhere between there.

Reaction - .5107
60' - 1.95
1/8th ET - 8.3202
1/8th MPH - 86.69
1000 ET - 10.6260
1000 MPH - 97.47

Do these seem like decent times. I wish I could have been at a 1/4 track but they are all a 3-5 hour drive from here. Oh well, either way I had a good time.

Congrads, based off of your 1/8 mile time, it looks like a high 12s pass. Judging from your 1000ft time around a 12.7
