Default 04 Gt & 05 GT vs 99Z

Mods in my sig.

The 04 gt has exhaust, tune (for better economy? thats what the owners friend told me) and it has a BBK intake. Its an auto. I'm kinda curious what you guys think he could be putting down. Im just throwing this one in for the hell of it and I'm curious. Im supposed to run him but never see him when I'm out.

Now here is the real reason for the thread, I have a guy with a 4.6L 05 GT wanting to race me. He just bought the car from Family motors in Casper, WY and claims it is supercharged with other mods. I'm calling BS but he won't let me look under the hood and wants to race for $100. The first time I met him, I rev'd at him cause he was showing off in a walmart parking lot and he revd back and I never heard a supercharger whining and he did a flyby and again, never heard anything close to a supercharger. Here is a pic of the car before it was bought,http://b2.caspio.com/dp.asp?appSessi...e=&CPIorderBy=

I just called the dealer and asked what was all done to it when they had it 2wks ago and they said it had the body kit and side exit exhaust and that was it.

Lastnight I talked to the owner of the 05 gt again and I asked him if it was a 4.6L or 5.4L and he looked dumb founded and asked what I ment. After trying to explain I gave up and told him I would see him soon.

I'm either guessing that

A: he is a dumbass and thinks his car is top **** and hasn't heard of me picking on the other mustangs in town.

B: he has raced some of the LT1's in town and he hasn't messed with any LS1's

C: He has a shot of nitrous hiding in it

Think I should go for it? or leave it alone and not risk loosing my money haha

You're gonna beat both of them convincingly if he's not blown. That automatic '04 GT would be lucky to break into the 13s. If the tune adjusted anything on the transmission it would be immensely helpful.

I'm going say the 04 is making between 265-280 to the wheels and the 05 is a 'tard who thinks his car is uber fast because he has never been around anything faster, so he has nothing and is trying to punk you with the $100 so he can brag to his wal-mart friends that you are scared cus his car is so awesome.

Oh I can guarantee that GT doesn't have more than 240-245rwhp. I had a nearly full bolt-on (shorties, CAI, upper plenum, X-pipe, exhaust) '01 GT that put down 267rwhp.

you should definitely pull on both especially the 04 GT for sure. my old Z28 was an auto with only a lid, and Loudmouth catback with crappy 2.73 gears and i pulled him pretty bad.

I ended up racing the 04 not to long after I posted this thread, I laid down 3 car lengths at a 25mph roll. We raced from a dig and I spun through 3rd (some gravel was in my lane, old service road) and tried to go again and he refused and ran back to his ricer buddies and was saying he whooped my *** until his other buddy with a stock 04 brought up the roll race haha. And the 05 GT came into my work a month or two later to get an oil change and I had to see under the hood and there wasn't ****, not even an intake. I asked the guy where his S/C was and he replied with "oh its sitting in my garage", I told him I'd meet him and we'd run for that $100...never showed up and I haven't seen him since then.

Go call em out in front of their friends. Tear down the excuses.

And get some decent tires so it doesn't happen again.

agreed. The 99-04's need gears, exhuast, and an intake to stay competive to a very mild bolt on Ls1.

The the auto was stalled, 4:10s, bolts on and tires it would be a strong running car.

The 05 is a godo race. THe breath a lot better up to. But he sounds like a D-bag and prob can't drive for ****.
