I was challenged by a friends friend of mine and he has a 06 mustang GT. It's stock pretty much except for exhaust. Do I have a chance?

 

Auto or stick?

 

Motortrnd is showing 5.2 0-60 and 14.2 1/4 for the auto /d 4.9 and 13.9 with the manual. From what I hear those things do great with even the smallest of mods.

 

It's a stick. He has the magnaflow exhaust

Those cars put down about 275@the wheels stock. My buddys car ran 13.6@103.5
He added the Ford Power pack and dropped into the 13.2@106

DO IT!!!! You never know, he might be a terrible driver with a stick! You never know. I have raced plenty of ls1 f-bodies and won due to the terrible driver mod. You just have to make the perfect run. oh, p.s. shoot a video and post it!

 

Do it for fun! If he beats you, make fun of his "high-performance" car barely beating your 4 door family sedan. If you beat him, then you can really give him some crap.

 

do it. theyre not that quick. i thought that the power pack was gears, tune, cai, and exhaust? with just an exhaust i dont know why you wouldnt be able to beat that car. i doubt that the stick would be that vast of an improvement over the auto on the street. he wont be able to launch the car hard enough for it to make a difference. besides it all depends if the guy can drive or not.

 

i highly doubt you will get raped, i think depending on driver mods in both cars you shouldnt do too bad

Guy's I have been beat.
Yes you never know.. odds are not in the LS4's favor. Stupid gearing and heavier car. IAT temps go up and power goes down.

 

GT Mustangs avg 0-60 in low 5.0 our car's tend to stick with 5.6-5.9.
Might wanna borrow AlabamaGuys car.

 

Weird, I'be beaten every stock/light modded GT except for the '11 model... Maybe it's because I do roll races.

Well, I did beat 2 '10 models at the track, also.

 

Never mind my friend got the year mixed up it's an 04 with exhaust and a cold air intake. It is a manual as well
