Question, does your grammar get worse when you are upset? Come on man you're a Dr......I would expect exquisitely written responses backed by well thought out examples and verified facts. Any less and I'm quite disappointed.
Dont try to play the smartass now and stand behind what you say. You are right Im a Dr., not an american one, nor I have ever live in the US. Question for you; attacking one's grammar is the best argument you can formulate? I may not have stellar grammar but boy Im quite decent compared to a lot here.

Let me tell you what dissapoints me, recurring to disrespectful remarks specially coming from a moderator. Nevertheless it does not impress me, and please forgive my grammar.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I ran a 2011 SS that had a tune headers and catback from several different rolls and the out come was always the same. Me winning by several lengths. We pulled off to talk, but he was pissed when I told him what my car had done to it and left. The first words out of his mouth were"how much power is that beast making?". My reponse was "330 ish". He gave me a look like I was lied and took off.

When talking about drag race launches, yes IRS does hurt.

because you're looking at an 800lb weight difference.

the 5th gen is the faster of two stock for stock m6 cars. it has been proven time and time again.

I realize there is a weight difference, but i was just curious cause my dad works with a couple guys who put IRS from a vette into an F-body. I just thought IRS was a good thing.

For handling, yes it is good... for straight-line launches, solid axle is better.

i would feel bad embarrassing someone who paid good money for their 2010 ss. ive had my way with a couple and the outcome was horrible for the money spent. yes yes i know the 2010 has been faster than stock 4th gens blah blah blah im sure but i would never be scared of one i can tell you that and hell bein auto i got out on the highway next to a new 5.0 mooooostang and took off from like a 65 which i believe is the bottomish part of third for me with my gears and he still couldnt get around me i got him by a car and a half or so from a retarded roll and arent those things supposed to molest us?

track numbers are track numbers i could care less. those super fast passes by both the 5th gen and the 5.0 i can promise you were on the track with nice tires lots of prep and great drivers. the reality we live in is the cars you see running around on the streets do not have those types of drivers in them and 9/10 times do not have anything more than an all weather tire on them. everyone thats your average car buyer that goes and gets one of those cars simply cannot repeat the reported numbers without alot of prep, know how, and tires they just simply do not have the ability to do so without those things.

out on the street in the real world where conditions are uncertain i know my car and would never be scared of either the 5th gen ss or the new 5.0

I ran one on the street before I modded up and he got around me somewhere in the area of 90-110mph...I ran one on saturday and spanked the **** out of it from a a dig and then from a 70mph roll with a passenger that weighs 250lbs. It was a silver 2011 vert ss with the square exhaust.

That picture wasn't even funny ~10 years ago when people actually used it.

I have a lot of friends with 5th gens. Intake, headers, tune they make 405-410rwhp. Compared to a intake/headers/tune 4th gen they are quicker. Stock vs stock they are also faster at the track here.

After that, once the real modding starts, the 4th gen takes the cake. Just compare times in every catagory past stock, and its easy to realize the 4th gen has the advantage. The 2010+ are simply overweight and the IRS does it no justice @ the drag strip.

i slightly disagree. i think a mod for mod comparison would show a fair fight only at the bolt-on level. i think a cam or h/c ls3 would still make enough power to walk away from the same ls1. also, lest we forget...the 4th gen rear is less capable than the irs in the 5th gen cars.

i am not a 5th gen nutswinger, in fact, i greatly dislike them. but the truth is the truth. mod for mod, despite its weight, it will be the faster of the 2. in my opinion we are also comparing apples to oranges pitting the 2 against each other. nothing fair about the comparison.

the 4th gen is lighter, but the powerplant simply can't compete with an ls3, espcially when considering a cam or h/c setup.
