Default 4th Gen SS beat 2010 SS?

Does anyone know what the stock RWHP is on a 2010 SS, and what would it take for a 4th Gen SS to beat it?

312 hp for the V6 ad 426hp for the V8... all you need is some more HP!

I believe the 2010 M6s are putting down 350-365. A 4th gen with basic bolt-ons should be able to handle it.

The 5th gens are fat too. they weight a ton so with bolt ons and traction a 4th should take it

My calculations (12% power train loss) say a 2010 M6 SS will dyno 374. Yes, it may not get that much due to the IRS. If the 2010 is 3800lbs, that is .099 power to weight ratio. I think they actually dyno around 365 so that would be a PTW of .097. My car dynoed at 324 with lid and catback, which given 3600lbs equals a PTW of .090. A 360rwhp car weighing 3600 would have a PTW of .100. So, it would take bolt-ons and a small cam in a 4th gen to beat a 2010. Assuming the 2010s are harder to launch, a bolt-on 4th gen could be right with it in the 8th.

Does that add up? Yes, I was bored.

the 5th will aways be at a disadvantage unless we start talkn weight reduction, but even with doing that it will never chatch up to a 4th

3600 was just a guess due to my car being a full weight SS with all the options, speaker box, SFCs, etc. Let's see, 345rwhp @ 3400lbs would be a PTW of .101. There are many variables here but a light weight Z/28 with headers and a tune should win.

BTW, a power-to-weight ratio of .100 is impressive and was huge back in the "good old muscle car days".

I am calculating that right, aren't I? Is 1 to 1 the magical number? Maybe I am a decimal point off but it's something like that.

I ran one, I'm just a bolt on 4th Gen and i got on top easily. They are heavy, have IRS and rock the aerodynamics of a brick.

In the real world they run 14s with an average driver, 4th gens run high 13s with an average driver. Look at trap speeds also. Advantage goes to the 4th gen.

stock for stock il give slight advantage to 4th gen, depends on model of 4th gen

a 1sc 4th gen camaro will take the 5th gen
a ws6 might slightly edge out 5thgen,driver race probly

Ive beaten a handful of them at the track except for one local guy that pulled off a 12.9. He claims his is bone stock but im not real sure on that.

It's close...but driver to driver the 5th gen should be a few tenths and a couple mph ahead stock vs stock. So a couple of bolt ons or a bad driver will seal the deal for a 4th gen.

4th gens do not have an advantage over 5th gens... especially if we are talking M6 vs. M6. Now the L99 automatic cars do kinda suck stock, so a well-driven M6 4th gen or a great A4 could take one down stock, but not M6 vs. M6.
