Default Buick Regal GS

Trying to guage this car..it's been a hot topic of discussion recently.

1998 Regal, 3.8l, Turbo, FMIC, Cam, Exhaust & Tune.

Since the kid considers the power levels to be of a classified nature and this car apparently dominates everything it races by a length, no matter the vehicle(car, motorcycle, aircraft), I'm honestly curious as it if anyone has a similar setup and can shed some light on what I can see being a stock Convertor & Trans 4 door car as being said to be racecar status.

Just trying to figure this out as far as what power it can be pushing and times it'll run..weight of the vehicle, etc..

Vehicle of discussion can be found here..

That's actually impressive. Professional vs home build might be different so anyone with hands on feel free to chime in.

I have no idea if this means anything but with the stock blower my buddy says his DD GTP has around 300HP.. It has pulley/exhaust/etc etc. Nothing impressive about his.

The 3.8s are strong and do well with FI.

Oh I agree..anyone that doesn't think so should go test out a GNX. But that was a rwd 2-door with a decent factory suspension, not a fwd 4door car.

The 3.8 series I and II motors are still very strong though and make decent power pretty affordable and easily with FI.

I could see one hitting 300Whp pretty easily with a nice turbo kit and supporting mods.

The stock Convertor factor still gets me tho..anyone with common sense knows that much about an auto.

I could see it pushing maybe 300-315hp with a good home turbo setup..

I think that car made around 370whp with a better blower. With the turbo setup I think he could net about 400-420whp maybe. Then again he already ran 11's with a few bolt ons [insert-trollface]

I These engines are nothing to sneeze at guys. Ill bet he is putting a good amount of power down if everything is set up correctly. The 67 billet turbo he claims to be using has put down 620+ and rocketed GNs into the 9s. The only difference is that he has much more potential. Stock heads on the series 2 are on par with ported heads from a GN. Ported.. forget about it. they also have a better built enginr from the factory with 4 bolt mains I believe.. honestly I think it can be done. Ill offer more when I get home and off my phone.

Ive seen them rip in a GN, but here you are working with a car that has a 4T65E and stock axles which I'm sure would snap..then again stock stall and street tires are a factor..no traction means no broken parts.

A few years ago I ran against a crappy white (w/rust and dents) 4 door GS
at Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, WI. I was pretty shocked when he
went 13.04 since the thing was basically disgusting looking. Unfortunately for
him my primer green 69 four door Impala (385 w/S475 blo-thru) T-BAGGED
his **** box.......11.44 @ 121...on 8lbs.
Side note....my father has an 04 Monte SS with the supercharged 3800 and
his is a 14.0 turd even though he has 1.9 rockers, headers, cat-back, pulley,
and tuned on drag radials....stock converter
