Also I know this is wrong forum to post this but do to the hours of no avail googling for this hp tuners crapfest I got in. I’m sure some sorry SOB like me will find it. I found that the failed writes can be fixed by disconnecting battery for some time then reconnecting and then opening up the vcm editor from the ORIGINAL hptuners folder. I was using a shortcut and it simply didn’t work. I have no idea why. Also high idle troubleshooted by yanking Pintle valve all the way to fully extending after noticing it would not move even with scanner commanded sweeps from 0-128. Bolted it up fully extending and left unplugged. Idle issues resolved. This was a several hundred mile bwd unit that failed. May or may not have been from the hptuners nearly bricking the pcm. Ac delco one on the way just in case
