Default 600WHP NA 4Th gen

Anyone know if this is possible? I'm looking at a 408ci LS Short Block with a LQ4/LQ9 Iron Block, 4.000 Stroke, and a 4.030 Bore, Ross -3.5cc Flat top Pistons, 11.8:1 Compression Ratio, some AFR Heads, Good Cam Thinking about the LG Motorsports G5X3 custom grind Camshaft (Would like a recommendation on the cam) Better oil and Fuel System, Fast 102 Intake, and probably a Rebuilt T56 Transmission, Is there anything here I'm missing? I'm also looking for at least 6800rpm Capable, this is for a 2002 Camaro SS, and is this possible at all, Or am I looking at more like 550WHP?

That setup would make 500whp maybe a little more deping on exhaust and other things.... your gonna need more compression, THE BEST heads, THE BEST cam, and really good valvetrain, and you wil be closer to 7800 rpm, not 6800.... if you want 600 WHEEL HORSEPOWER from 408 cubic inches

What heads and Cam would I need? And also what lift valve springs would be good for that kind of RPM? Also I'm not very good at calculation compression ratios and what would create what compression ratio, would around 13.0:1 or maybe even 14.0;1 be enough for that kind of power?

Someone much more knowledgeable in that power level than me can chime in... but like I said... whatever the best best best is... So something like LS7 Mast heads, a MASSIVE cam, and valvtrain that will live revving, great exhaust, and perfect intake, lots of compression, probabaly race fuel or at least E85........ maybe im wrong......

I Just found a LQ4 Based Long block claiming 600HP on a 10.3:1 Cr https://www.lsxceleration.com/lsxcel...iCmGJwS06Nkoeh

Does that sound right to you? Its the same Displacement as the short block I was looking at earlier, I think this Long block would be easier as its under $10,000

It uses LS3 Heads so would I need a different wiring harness for that? Or will the Stock LS1 Harness work with LS3 heads and LQ4 Block?

Which of those 3 head options do you think would be the Best for Max power while staying N/A?

Where are you located?

To get to 550-600rwhp you should partner up with a shop that has accomplished that before.

That engine might make 600hp with a FAST intake or the single plane and a carb, and longtube headers with open exhaust like they used on there dyno pull AT THE CRANK... that is 600 FLYWHEEL HP not 600 REAR WHEEL HP

600WHP which is what you asked for..... will be over 700HP AT THE CRANK

  • You are going to want either a badass set of cathedrals (TFS 254s, Brodix BR1s, etc).
  • 13:1 ish would help (compression is going to be dependent on what fuel you can afford/have available to run with... pump e85 will handle 15:1 so if that is available to you)...
    • Get your quench down low.
  • Cam is going to need to be at least 24X/25X+, as much lift as you can.
  • A Fast 102 no matter the cam or induction in front of it will peak at mid to high 6000rpm range.
    • Biggest thing on induction side is no restriction. So 102+ throttle body, ditch the MAF.. Do a ram air style intake out the front bumper to really maximize performance in motion.
  • You are going to want a good lifter like a johnson short travel with a larger diameter push rod.
    • Lighter intake valves will help.
    • Stock rockers are fine, upgrading to a btr shaft setup with your stock rockers or their "Stock rockers" would be good.
  • Lighter flywheel and clutch assembly will help with power.
  • A vacuum pump will be a good option.

Check out my build thread (it is a bit crazier than you probably plan on going, but motor wise it gives you an idea on how to make 600wheel.).

My engine would probably be a good place to look for ideas. Made 660's all day long on the engine dyno. Different intake and more cam/RPM and youll be pretty close to your goals.

Ben at GPI has been remote tuning my combo, absolutely amazing experience! They are definitely a great choice.
