Yeah I am with Dan. I would pull it out myself and build a freak. That thing looks like a fun DD

I was thinking the same thing, but figured I'd ask around first. If I sell this car I'll be without a sports car for 1-2years, then buy just a weekend car.

If I build this up I'm going Crawford short block, upgraded oil pick up, upgraded oil cooler, rotated turbo.....ya know the works, then it'll be come my weekend car!! I'd just rather sell it at this point, before the build gets me. LOL

Sorry Bill it's one or the other at this point. I'd rather a new ride, but will fix this if I decide to keep her.

If the heads aren't damaged, a new shortblock and gasket kit is $2300.

If its just a piston, you should just replace it. as long as the cylinder isnt scored you should be fine. No need to split the block.

The problem is that I haven't torn down the engine. It's still installed in the car and "can" run, so I have no clue to the extent of damage done. I've just been assuming I'd need the short block up. I'd like to sell the car off before I start a tear down of the engine, because once the engine is out I'll be keeping the car. I just don't wanna start a big project at this point, but like I say once it's out I'm doing it my way(full build). LOL

car is washed and vacuumed, but can't find the camera!! > I'm under the assumption my wife has it with her. I'll snap pics tomorrow since my camera phone is crap. If you want the crappy camera phone pics. I CAN send you those at least. Just PM me your number.

Thanks,

i live out in nj and a very good friend just sold his modded 2006 sti with on 40k on the clock! sold it for way under kbb because of the market. 19k im almost sure but ill ask. so in my mind 15k for one with a blown motor and 94k is crazy!

and i know the next comment is ganna sound like " i have mad money in the car" but i can say he did also... efi logics did all the work and i know thousands were spent when he went up there with the car.

if you wanted to sell it for like 10k i would be totally interested

you might not have read my first post. It's not a neccessity to sell. I also am considering best offer, so it's not a 15k reserve....just gotta be close. I'm not giving my car away, just want a fair price for it.
