Default FS MA: 2007 STi blown motor SOLD

SOLD

**Priced lowered 15k**

Hey guys just found out I blew my motor on cylinder 3. I've decided to post up that the car will be for sale if the offer is right. Ideally with what I've put into the car, I'd like to get 18k OR BEST OFFER. It is a OBP STi 90% highway driven with 94k miles, so normal wear and tear on body. interior is almost perfect and had MINIMAL scratches (basically just where my AP is mounted on the heater vent).

Mods are as follows (~10k):
AP V2
K&N drop in filter
TiC short shifter kit (full set with bushings)
Hella Horns
Invidia TBE (G-series)
Whiteline F&R sways
Kartboy Endlinks
RCE yellow springs
RCE camber plates
Group N rear mounts
Pro tune from Chris at EFI Logics in Bethel CT
Walboro fuel pump
One step colder plugs
Goodridge SS lines
DBA slotted and x-drilled rotors
Project Mu B-force pads all around
Rota Boost wrapped in Goodyear GSD3s

*I also have stock BBS with Blizzaks AND Coolingmist meth kit with failsafe and low level indicator.

Car is for sale, but I am NOT hard pressed to sell, so please no low ballers!!

Will post pics after I clean her up a bit. Thanks.

Pre/post pics of detail found on FB:

The STi motors are know to have weak rings for the most part once you start adding mods to the car. The down side is that the short blocks cost 4k to start. I personally wouldn't put any OEM coponents back on the car when modded. I would sugget to do CP pistons/rings with a Axis or Crawford block.

And YES I am asking 18k obo. I figure between all the parts I have on the car it's close enough for someone to consider around 18k. The car is in GREAT shape for the amount of miles.

i kinda agree... As someone that's been shopping around for an STi for the past year.. 18k is waaaaaay too much for almost 100,000 mile car with a blown motor, no matter how much $$,$$$ you've put into it.

No disrespect at all, but i'm sure we all agree that you'll have better luck if you fix it then sell it.. or come off the price tag quite a bit. I wish you the best tho

Sorry bout the loss, at this point a part out may be in order, you will get your # once the parts are gone, sucks man. I was there with my Camaro 3 years ago. 20k in parts but no one would take it for what I was asking as a package.

Ohhh, I know it's up there, so I expect to negotiate. I just don't wanna set the bar too low then get porked. LOL. I've had several offers below 18k, I'm just waiting for some one to give somewhere between what I'm asking and what the car is worth with the blown motor and hopefully "something" to help cover my mods.

My problem is that I don't need to sell the car. I can fix it, but if I sell it I'll go into looking at other sports cars in 1-2yrs. I'm talking 40-50k range if I sell this one off.

this car is a forged shortblock away from being an amazing track car. its in great shape, never knew it had as many miles on it as it does. its a blast to drive and always put up very respectable times even with a less than stellar driver

derek is a straight shooter, id pick up this car in a heartbeat if i wasn't so damn sick of subaru parts lol

Not sure how abundant these motors are. But I can certaintly get one for anyone that might need one. Looks like they arent very cheap though. I work for a huge national salvage company. Let me know if anyone needs assistance in finding a motor. GL with the sale

You would be much better off getting it running. $18,000 is a lot of cash for a roller.
I say roller because I have to assume either the Diffs or tranny are shot or both. Atleast that would be my thinking if I was about to take $18k is savings and probably another $5-6k in getting it running. For $18,000 I would buy a high mileage WRX for $5-$7,000 and use the rest for mods and do it the way I want. Not flaming on your car just saying how people are going to look at it.

There is completly nothing else wrong with the car, the only thing busted for sure is one of the cylinders. Tranny, diffs are all okay. I limped the car to work for 6 days not going into boost, so it clearly is up and running(Hence I don't NEED to sell if I've been driving it around). It's a GREAT car for a FAIR price. If people wanna offer lower than 18k go for it. You never know what I'm willing to sell for!! I'm just not "giving" the car away.

I will chime in tomorrow with the exact interchange but I dont beleive it was 07 only. Regardless the options i was looking at were both 07s. Let me know, if I cant find it...nobody can. I can have a few people on here vouch as well. One member just bought a couple trannys and an engine off of me.

Last I knew all internals are the same. I know the heads are slightly different between 06-07 models.....as well as the exhaust side of the turbos, other than that they should be the same.

I have a spare 2.5 turbo shortblock if you are looking for something to build and then drop in. pistons rods and crank are fine... prolly needs to be cleaned/honed and new bearings if you wanted to use it without beefing it up. I think the 2.5 turbo shortblocks are basically the same up until 07. I think the addition of the AIR pump might have made them different... I definitely know the heads are different.

MaSTi is a straight shooter. Like he said he's throwing it out there not hard up to sell it but biding his options. Cars got all highway and a couple autox days in it. I've driven the car, been under it, etc, its solid no other issues otherwise. I've also detailed the car the paint is solid with the exception of the front end having the typical highway chips.

I'd kinda rather see him build the motor and make it a little stupid, car is still young, just has some miles on it

Pics from just over a month ago.

interchange is 06-07. difference is intake which would need to be swapped. so you got a two year shot on the motor. rough estimate would be 65-7500 for a used motor with under 40k. i could have in Leominster, MA for pickup within a week or so.

yeah either way the motor is coming out. Park it, pull it, and inspect what you got. Might just need a cleanup and some pistons and new rings. Or maybe the valves are shot. Either way somebody's gotta take it apart.

You know you got people to wrench, we could drop off the motor and let the build begin. subi motors come out fairly easy.
