My dad was on the field in '80 when they won it (security) and we were both there tonight along with the rest of the family.
It was truly incredible, something none of us will ever forget. The image of Brad Lidge striking them out was just insane.

Neither can I and I wasn't even there...I got about 3hrs of sleep. I'm 28 and FINALLY witnessed a major championship here. Born in '80 so obviously I don't remember the '80 Phillies and too young to remember the '83 Sixers(then again who cares, it's basketball 
). Now the Flyers need to win the cup and I'll be really happy.

Hey, they are from Philly, even Smarty Jones couldn't overcome the curse. What else should I have expected. lol
All in all, good games throughout the playoffs and Cole is one of the nastiest pitchers I have seen in a long time. For him to be so young, with so much talent, and manage to stay so under control with the pressure of the city resting on his shoulders is truely impressive. Hope he can keep it together, stay humble, and keep working. He has the potential to put up Hall of Fame type career numbers, let's hope he does it.
Congrats to the Phillies and their fans, only a few dozen more to catch up to the Yanks
I think to celebrate the city should give out cheese steaks, soft pretzels, and lagers to everyone from 2 hours before the parade until 2 hours after the city hall reception ends. That would get me to go to the parade. lol

Yeah, I work with such an informed bunch of fans. One or two are real fans, but most of them couldn't name a single player on the current or 1980 championship team. I know every team has it's bandwagon following when they get to the top, but christ, not being able to name 1 out of 48 players? That's just sad

Ok, that's all they get...the Phillies are off the hook for a couple years now. Back to the angry, disappointed Philly fan syndrome. Damn Eagles! Stop playing like silly-nannies and win some damn conference games!
