Who wants a free car detail......there is a catch though
As everyone knows I like to detail cars. I want to start using my rotary polisher (I use a random orbital now). I just need a car to practice on!
I have used the polisher about 3 or 4 times and I have never burned through the clear, I just dont want to take a chance on my 2009 car, it doesnt even have 1,500 miles.
If you have a car that needs some paint CPR along with a garage and some heat (for my sake), I'll compound, polish, glaze and shine the car. Time permitting I'll do everything else (interior, glass etc).
I am in Stoughton, MA.

Don, I am all for your car. The car is in pretty good shape so I didnt know if you would mind. I know nothing will happen and I cant use the rotary on the more suspectible spots anyway because the pad is too large.
Not this Saturday but next I can do it. I would do it this Sunday but you have to work and I know you take the day off.

I'm going to work on Don's Firebird.
Didn't your truck just get a brand new paint job, it looks mint. Unless your talking about Trailblazer SS. Either way I dont think either of your trucks; no matter how bad they are will justify the rotary. A random orbital is more than enough. I know people who do minor detailing jobs with a rotary, when I get good enough I plan to myself. Nothing can beat a rotary, it can make a mild polish work like a medium cut compound. If your careful, the results from a rotary are unmatched and take hours less.
P.S. They are very very expensive but I plan to get a hot water extractor soon. I should be able to take care of the worst carpet stains with little to no scrubbing, that would be a dream. I can test it out on Jenn's minivan, she creates the perfect storm!

If you need a black car to practice on I got one for ya. Heated garage and fridge full of beer -- bud, Sammy, Hazed and infuzed, and 60 minute IPA are the current selections. Car is even 2 feet off the ground on jackstands to make it real easy. Car has never been buffed before-- hell its still got the numbers and rubber on it from last season.

Thanks Don.
Yea guys, it's a rotary polisher, not a cheap random orbital. Even with a mild pad and mild polish it can literally burn through clearcoat within 2 seconds. I was looking for someones daily driver or beater that I could work on so if A.) the clear gets burned it's no sweat off my back or your back and B.) incase I dont have time to finish the car (I'm still new to the rotary) you wont mind.
I'll detail Don's car. If it comes out quicker than I think I'll post pictures for you to see the work and I'll lower my prices.
