Usps fraud !!!!
I am a college student and i use a website called bookbyte.com to purchase and sell my used books. Based on the serial numbers on the books, you get an exact amount of what your check will be upon arrival and inspection of your books. You also recieve a prepaid shipping label via USPS (which i never use but had to in this case). To make a Long story short, i shipped my books out a few days after xmas which value in over 200$, and im wondering where the hell my check has been. Yesterday I recieve an empty box that had been taped back up along with a questioniere (sp) that i need to fill out about my missing goods. The box isnt beat up at all. By the look of it, it looks like somebody opened the package, took the books out and taped the bottom of it. I offered my opinion that this is a usps worker who has stolen my books. Now that I think about it I find it a bit odd that when I shipped the package out the lady said "Oh just used text books". Anyway i had to fill this bullshit out and sent it to a USPS office in Minnesota and I highly doubt i will get a refund from them.

I work at UPS and I can tell you first hand, boxes break open all the time and sometimes things get lost/destroyed. It's highly unlikely that a USPS employee stole it 1) because of everything that goes through their system, a $100 book is really not that valuable and 2) it's not worth losing your job over stealing a book. You should get your money back if it was lost in their system, at least that's how UPS works. Best of luck to you!

One of the forums my girlfriend is on is all about hangbags. This one member shipped out of a really expensive bag (1000+). She had the USPS store pack it and ship it out. She got tracking and everything. It didn't show it was shipped for a few days. A bit late the package shows up, inside a cheap piece of crap bag.

I would also concur with poor packaging, even if it is packaged correctly sometimes stuff happens. Take a look at that plane that landed in the Hudson, I'm sure that had mail in the belly. I also doubt somebody would want your books having no idea what's in the box to begin with. I mean a leap from stealing Christmas cards, which are painfully obvious, to a random box is pretty goofy. If you suspect fraud or theft please contact your local Postal Inspectors.
