Default Winter Projects... Few pics!

Got off my *** last weekend and got **** done

Pulled the trans. out of the TA and dropped it off at Slowhawk Performance.
Installed the cam Slowhawk spec'd for me, and full valvetrain upgrades I've had lying around for 4 years LOL.

Pulled the rear subframe out of my roommates '02 M3 I've been building. Reinforced all the usual suspects with Turner Motorsports gusset kit, and new bushings throughout. This one is putting down 476rwhp with the VF stage 2 supercharger I installed, so it was only a matter of time before the rear sheetmetal was grenaded.

Couple pics!

I dropped it off on Saturday. On Wednesday Don called me, and said the trans. was FUBAR. Not worth fixing, and couldn't be done for a decent price.

So Don is going to put it back together, and I'll use it as a core. I ordered up a Stg. 4 from RPM transmissions out of Indiana. Should be here within 2 weeks.

Nice pics. Interesting how the M3 gas tank straddles the drive shaft/rear end. Must be for better weight distribution. Hope that drive shaft doesn't fail though.

BMW has used the design since the E30 3 series in the mid eighties. Back then the tanks were metal, and the even had a connecting line that ran underneath the driveshaft.

On the E46, there are two metal plates that connect each side of the tunnel under the shaft. Never seen, or heard of a shaft failing on one these cars. 99% of them don't see the stress of dead hooking on the street/strip that our cars do.

They are also torque-less.

LOL, it took you 5 damn years just to get an LS6 manifold!

I always said I was done spending money on the car. But now I keep looking in the classified section for a cheap nitrous kit, and some heads haha. I need to keep reminding myself. Viper...Viper...Viper...

M3 rips with the SC blower. I'm trying to get him to buy a T trim blower, and some cams already

He's going to need it once my car is tuned and back together... I'm guessing he weighs around 3900lbs, I should be under 3600. He's going to be pissed if I drag that ***

98wssick, I'm putting the Spec 3 that I've been running back in it. Just with a new disk/LTW flywheel. Pressure plate looked mint so it's going back in.

Based on the work you're doing, I'm guessing that you want a Viper next to your WS6 in the gargae?

Hudson. Just moved over from Nashua, closer to my work!

TA can stay, or go. At this point it doesn't really matter too me. I at least want to drive it a few times with the cam if its time for it to go though

Any numbers for the cam? If you don't want to give up the specs, then just an idea (aggressive, mild driver, etc.). It would suck to see the TA go, it's a great looking car, but you gotta do what you gotta do when it comes to getting a Viper.
