Same here, car is resting. Not for too long I hope. My truck has about 2" of sand caked on so no car on the roads. I am current.

wow, this is definately a b.s. law. I'm a 16 year old from Burlington and cops around here love to hastle kids, especially ones with anything and everything aftermarket. Brings me back to the days of my straight-piped 660cc Raptor ATV and getting in trouble for that...

Yeah I was about to say that NY already has that dumb law since I got pulled over for the exhaust but they can't give me anything since the car is legit in Florida.

they've been trying to get this same law passed in MA for years now, but somehow it never ends up coming up for vote. lets hope it stays that way, so read this article from SEMA and write your politicians and let them know how you feel (i do)!

Ct. has been ********* on exhaust noise since the late 60's and early 70's, when the big-block Camaros and SS 396 Chevelles were available w/factory chambered exhaust systems. We used to get grabbed going to and coming from Ct. Dragway in East Haddam on Sundays. Those little ***-wipe cops used to hide in the bushes waiting for us to go by. Boy, Connecticut Dragway was a great track---some of the best NHRA action on the east coast back then... Tasca Ford's 427 Fairlane Thunderbolts, Harr Ford's 427 Cobra, (Worcester, Ma.), The Hemi Dodges and Plymouths from Rhode Island, and those killer stage II 455 Buicks from the Boston area, not to mention the killer 4-4-2 Olds and 427 Camaro and Chevelle cars. It was nothing to have 60-70 Superstockers there on any Sunday. And yes, this damn thread is over 2 years old. WJ

Well, I'm in CT and this was news to me. This is stupid. As others have said, Harleys ride around with ZERO muffling - you can hear them for miles around.

My Vette has headers, no cats and Stingers plus a big cam, so it's loud at WOT, but muted otherwise. Not been pulled over for this yet.....

Stuipd jerks in power.

Wait till you get stopped by one of these cowboys w/a portable emissions tester (sniffer) in his cruiser and he does a visual and sees there are no cats under there....I'm told the Federal fine for removing or altering emissions equip. is $10,000.00. The Emissions Natzis are out to get performance-oriented car people, but it's OK for the 18 wheelers, 10 wheelers, and buses and some of the early diesel powered cars and trucks to belch the black smoke...Typical government thinking...

Heh.. If they have a portable tester.. I'd tell them to get away from my car with that thing, here's the emmissions test report, no problems. Unless they are plugging into the dash, they shouldn't be getting near anything from 1997 foreward with that thing, that's not the test. I have cats on my car anyway.. probably burnt out by now, if not, they will be after the heads go on in the next few weeks.

As for my helmet sitting where my rear seat used to he.. heh heh, it's better safe then sorry, that's all I'd have to say to that.

Naah, I'd strait tell him it's for track use.. where the car gets raced. I'd then tell him that if he saw me driving on the road with it on.. then there's need to worry what I'm up to LOL.

Besides, I'd guess that I have less then 5 times left that I'll drive my car without a roll bar in it anyway, once that goes in, it's kinda hard to hide what the car's for.

Mass laws in regards to this were actually passed last year.....nothing that can alter the sound of the exhaust is allowed. I think Tom from TByrne actually got pulled over because a cop saw his BOV on the tailpipe of his GTO and questioned him about it.
