Looking scarey for saturday to drive down on slicks. Looks like rain by 2-3pm and that means low pressure zone moving in makes the air even worse

I think you are going to need a chute. If you really give her hell and have a strong tailwind.

OK heres the update everyone..... not quite sure what to think but here goes.
Went down did a small burnout in 1st gear for the first pass. Road out the burnout to the line. Pull up hit the line lock and put load on the rear and release the line lock. Reved the car to 3000rpm got nervous and lowered a bit to maybe 2500-2800 and basically pulled out quickly with a slight bog and started shifting at 6500rpm by the tach. Go down through go to shift to 4th grinds then get it in and full throttle again. Not shifting overly aggressive or anything. Tires were cold 20psi/22-23psi hot. I always put a load on the rear and left up on the clutch as to not release to fast to take the slack if you want to call it out of the clutch pedal travel. Results
1.72 60ft
7.2 1/8
102.7x 1/8mph
11.18 @ 127.79mph

So I come back around roll down the lanes and as I go down i have my hand on the shifter in neutral and I feel a strong click one time. I immediately stop and yell to a couple friends OMG its gonna break in this pass. I heard it click its got a broken tooth in the rear. So they go on both sides and I roll and none of us hear anything. They proceed to let me know I'm retarded and worry to much just run it. So I pull up do a ok burnout in 1st gear again and roll into it up to the line. I roll up and rev the car a few times and the lights come down and the car moves maybe 1ft or more and wham!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hits the rev limiter and car doesnt move more then a total of 3ft. I stop, get out hook the tow strap up and march my sorry as up to the top in front of everyone again. After we're all talking trying to think how are we gonna figure out what this is. We decide to roll the car and listen to the rear. We roll the car maybe 5-8ft and no noise from the rear. WEIRD? Ok so then we say ok the car shifts too. We roll the car in gear and you can feel its turning the tranny. So no broken output shaft. Very weird! So we start the car and let the clutch out. Car moves!!!!!! WTF! So i put it in 1st gear roll around the parking lot and shift up to 4th gear and car keeps moving and no major noise. I drive the car down through the pits and shift all the gears and no major noise and car drives. Well my the trailer i had lined up, his car shreds the blower and serpentine belts. So we decide to drive my car home and see what happens. As I do I notice a very weird non-smooth feeling coming from the driveline that will come and go with no ryhme or reason. It just comes in when it wants and goes away. No certain load makes it do it, speed, hill, flat road, certain RPM's, gears nothing could make it duplicate then just driving and it does it.
I'm thinking it could be a tooth or so off the ring gear or clutch or the mystery gear in the car. I keep watching the video (dvd sorry) and it makes alot of racket on the lanch. So I can't pin point exactly where to go now. It made a click noise before the pass, it took a poop on the launch, has a weird vide periodically but no extra noise that I can tell. It shook the car hard enough to make the exhaust wrap against the frame badly now so not sure about that.

So thats that.

So you wanna race in an hour?

Sorry to hear you had some issues. Sounds real strange, I wouldn't even want to guess what's wrong. I'd rip it apart before driving on it more though.

Definitely not how you want to spend a day at the track.

Yeah what a shitty day at the track. Nothing like my car chucking the serp belt and the blower belt at the top end of the track.

At least your car drove home and from the looks of the pic that Matt took I think your car wheel hopped

I've always enjoyed your posts but when is breaking your car at the track a cool thing?
Not to mention the potential to ruin everyone else's track day (possible fluid spill etc).
Call me crazy but if/when I know a part is on its last legs I replace it so as not to take out anything else.

Anyway good luck on your quest for a killer pass.

dude....he's not nostradamus. just b/c he heard something click and still ran it and something happened it doesnt mean he shouldnt have tried. our cars make stupid noises all the time...and in the end, he drove the thing home...so who knows what happened.
i understand what you're saying but its not like the thing had a rod knock and he still ran it like that knowing he would throw a rod.

Ugh, sorry to hear it Bruce, these things are an unfortunate part of the game we play though.

Those vids aren't too bad at all for being taken with such basic equipment.
