My slicks of doom
hoping a fluid change will cure itm but not really optimistic
It's whats called a worm gear setup.
thechef-Hope a fluid change helps ya, I've got a good bit of 6K rpm launches on my tru-trac with no issues so far, but I've heard the stories both good and very very bad.

Sean changing that Tru Trac for another will do nothing but cost him 650$ and it will break again. Spool it or go back to a Eaton HD unit. JL's lived for a LONG time and he sold it.
What I will say about the Spool / Posi debate is....
Car gets a 6 Point Weld in Cage = Spool
Car does not get a Weld in Cage = Posi
Car went 11.90 n/a with the nitrous tune in it, knowing where the timing and whatnot is that's probably 40 hp down from where it would be if the timing and whatnot wasn't pulled back. 99K on the stock shortblock there's no need to go getting aggressive with it at this point.
Once we get the wiring issue solved, car's going strait to a 11.0x-10 second pass I'm sure of it.
I'm voting spool if the fluid change doesn't solve it. I've seen that tru-junk break too many times to want to even take the chance with another one IMO. Spool isn't a big deal, just have to get used to startign out strait then turning the wheel and it will be fine.
Either that, or a regular eaton posi that we can at least rebuild!

Yes the car ran a 11.90 @ 112 or 113mph i dont remember best pass for the day with alot of timing pulled for the NOS which for some reason didn't work
im sure its something stupid like a loose connection or something
But if there ever was a day i wanted my own tuning software it was at the track i could have loaded the motor tune back in and ran faster NA...oh wellthere will be NO roll bar going in this car at least not in the near future, and a POSI will go back in if a fluid change doesnt fix the current problem, i dont go to the track enough for a spool, but after that rental i do have a real bug to strat running my 100k mile car alot
just got to fine the money to do it.All in all i was able to drive the car home and that is always a good thing, got to hang with friends and any day of racing is better than a day of working

Nice job, Friday. That car was squatting like crazy. I would love to see what my car with do with that shock/wheel/tire setup. Down the road it will definitely happen.
