Default Easy to make things better.....

First thing I'd do would be to get those big, fat heavy meats off the front end and install some nice lightweight 15x4 Convo-Pros w/skinnies. You're handicapping yourself, Don.... Your 60's, ET's, and probably MPH will improve as well...along w/a little more air under those front wheels! Best wishes...WJ

He's sticking to the 11.5 class.
Car is money right now as is.

UMM,thats the point.I have to run atleast a 1/2 tank too.The car runs under 11.5 in all weather so the weight just helps me not lift as much.

The car has run a 11.2 by accident on a 2000' DA.All the rest of the time I'm either pulling timing or letting off to run the 11.5 class. It has a stock (95k mile) shortblock with some cheap ported 5.3 heads and 228 Cam.Drive the car 300-500 miles a week.

Thing is like $450, would just an upgraded rear swaybar work just as well for a couple hundred bucks, hotchkis, or whatever?

I don't even have a real tire on my car yet,but I do have upgraded LCA's (stock location) and a panhard. That bar really makes that much of a difference huh.

Oh Stock springs/shocks too right?
Stock 95k mile shocks and springs. BMR double adjustable LCA,PH and sway bar.Midwest rear with there short torque arm.

Car has also pulled 1.52 60's on the 315 Nitto's.I run the ET streets because they are easier to hit a light with.

The $450 is well worth it.Look at my Car and Marco's which are nice and level, even at high tire air pressure. Then look at Teds on the launch all twisted up and he has to run a low tire pressure with much more meat.

How would that sway bar compare to just a normal upgraded sway bar? That's a lot of money to me but damn you can't argue with that launch

Thanks Don.

Does the bar change street driving characteristics enough to worth noting?

Is there a min. weight for that 11.5 outlaw class? Are electronics/throttle stops allowed there? If the car is capable of running way under the index every pass, a throttle stop and, or trans brake setup would (could) put you just about right on the 11.5 number every pass, no? (Don't know outlaw class rules, so just asking methods for your madness, ha.) Best wishes. WJ

no throttle stops allowed. People are running them in the classes but no one has the ***** to rat them out.

That is bullshit. Simple fix: Someone from Tech should be walking thru the staging lanes looking for stops as the cars sit waiting to turn the corner heading for the water box. These guys (cheating) are stealing your $ Marco, especially when most of the prize $ comes from the racers' entry fees, no?? I simply have no use for that kind of thing. WJ

Tech does not check any cars to see if they meet the rules thats the first problem, the other issue is guys with ATI's don't even pull into tech.

How about the fact that the #1 guy in my class runs a throttle stop

Marco, I've never known you to be bashful or a *****...If you're positive he's running a stop, walk up and straighten his *** out. Also, put the word out to the guy who calls us up from the lanes to the water box...he will let Joe Lombardo know and the guy will be gone...you know that. Some of these guys think just because they get a ATI sticker, they can go home and make their cheater mods and no one will bother them for rest of season---not so. You have too much $$ in your equipment to get screwed over by some nitwit cheater. WJ

I'm glad Don is figuring all this stuff out now as shortly he will be putting a Auto in mine.. Don you still running the stock torsion bar? Mine has been shaved so only one bolt fits to the 9" and still curious about that and yeah I know cars like that run 1.4 60's.

They are TSP stage 2 5.3's. Needed something cheap to raise compression.Between compression and ports it gained almost 40hp.

Had it figured out a long time ago, just nobody around here does the 100% drag setup.

Torsion bar? I'm guessing you mean torque arm? You can get them to fit but need a sledge hammer to clearance the tunnel with the rear your car has.Mine runs a Midwest Fab 9 which the torque arm they run fit's perfect.
