why am I doing this again???? As soon as i get my camera back from Bruce I will snap some pics of the block.

Today I tore the heads & stuff off, you can still see the factory cross hatching in the cylinder walls, none of the cylinders have nicks or anything. The pistons have some carbon build up, but not bad at all.

The only thing I can think of for the car slowly lossing power was the timing chain had alot of slack in it. This was the stock timing chain and had 85k on her.

Also found out where the oil leak was, the front cover on the bottom right, one bolt wasn't even snug, put the socket on it and it just spun right out, probally could of turned it out w/ my fingers.

Yea well, now I will have a forged bottom end, maybe be able to compete against MikeP for dyno queen

Just a quick update, the motor should be back from the machine shop in the next 2-3 weeks. He said everything looked good so far.

In the mean time i have been working on re-doing my intercooler/radiator setup.

I was sick of it laying back just bouncing around and just being a cluster FOCK if you looked at the car from underneath.

First up the new intercooler

Testing laying the radiator front

Plumbing up the charge pipes

So let the bashing begin about goin to this setup.

I just think this is gion to be a cleaner, more effeicent setup. The air dam up front is goin to force air up through the intercooler, as in the past it kinda just pushed air up and not directly into the intercooler.

Well, I have been waiting on parts basiclly. The cam showed up right before X-mas, and I got the phone call that the machine shop is done last week.

So sometime this week I will be goin down & picking it up.

The only part I need to order yet are the pushrods. But I can't order those till I have everything together & measured up.

Other than that is any one looking for a stock short block? I don't have a real need for it, and it will just be hogging up space in my garage.

I just snapped some pics of the old motor. You can see it looks pretty damn good for having 80k on her. The pistons wiped clean w/ just alittle carb & choke cleaner which was really shocking. & you can still see the cross hatching in the bore, no scratches or anything.

Just goes to show if you change the oil on regularly & put good oil in, they will last forever.

OH YEA!!! I did install the LPE fuel pump, that MikeP was so nice to donate!!! I OWE YA BIG MIKE!!!

As far as the fuel pump install, what a PIA. I had the tanks pretty empty, I THOUGHT. Just as a precaution I had a 5 gallon buck under the tank as I was pulling the pump. They said to have to tank atleast below the 1/8 mark. Well mine was all the way down on E, so I thought i would be ok. I drained about 2½ gallons outta the tank and took a nice shower in gas.

Getting the pump back into the tank was really nice too. Props the the engineers for maken such a tight fit, I would have never imagined that you could get that whole assembly in that little hole

So that is installed, have the 60lb injectors, LPE fuel pump & Kenne Bell BAP. So she should be good on the fuel side.

Well boys I picked up the block. Tommorow Zturd & Lt. Dan are coming up to help slap the covers on & lift the lift the block up into the frame.

Some eye candy...

I blew up Dustin's bathroom while he, Bruce, and Lt. Dan slid the motor/subframe in and lifted it up. Damn Pizza Hut food... I at least left the fan on for ya Dustin.
