You're not making enough power to wear anything out. Try making 1000 hp with it, and see what kind of maintenance is required.

i totally agree with what your saying JL. To each his own. I think every power adder has its advantages/disadvantages. As far as the turbo maintenance is concerned im not sure why the high power guys you were referring to send the turbos back to get rebuilt regularly. My buddies evo is making over 1000hp and trapping in the 170mph range and the turbo hasn't been off the car in two seasons. well...it has but not to get rebuilt, just to make adjustments on other parts of the motor. having a huge snail hanging off the front of your motor would sometimes make work difficult if you didn't remove it. lol

edit...im not saying that turbos will last forever. but if you need to swap it out after every run than maybe something else needs to be addressed. Im no expert by any means but that just seems a bit extreme. Then again i dont know anyone who's making much over 1000hp with a turbo so maybe its far more abusive when we get into the 12-1500 hp range.

I am a street car not trying to make 1K.... Its pretty rare to see street cars making 1K... And from what I have seen from most nitrous street cars is they run a cam that barely idles and run a bunch of compression which must make it a nice summer ride in that 120* weather you mention...

I dunno. My sled had no idle problems.

Compression is your friend... try putting that blower on a 11.5 or 12 to 1 motor, it will make a good bit of power that way.

yea i hear ya on the street car thing. nitrous cars have to have the perfect scenarios to be fast on the street. bottle has to be filled, hooked up, heated, perfect bottle pressure, on a road that hooks otherwise they are just flushing the nitrous down the toilet etc. yea i mean turbos may run hot, but they dont shut off when they run out.

now if were talking track cars...turbo/blower cars better watch out if they are up against a decent running nitrous car...

again im no expert, just repeating what i learn from the fast and the furious movies.

No doubt at all but then again I am not running race gas just stop at the pump and fill up go racing or down the shore doesnt matter the car is fun any way... Compression tends to make a car run a bit hotter from what I have experienced...

I dunno. 13.7 to 1 and when I did drive it around, it never got over 180. stock radiator, 35 gpm race pump with no tstat and stock fans on all the time and it stayed consistant in the heat.

I can hotlap it, and the temp never gets over 200 even doing that... might run hotter, but I'd never know it.

[QUOTE=C5kid;12949342]LMAO!!!!!

If that's the case, why is it only running 11.4 @ 125? Something there seems like

I'm calling the 1000 hp, that you "think" his car's making,

I've seen plenty of cars making more then 1000 hp.. and I don't care HOW you do it, you're doing ALOT of maintenance.

Should get around 12 or more with the nano system. It doesn't have to evaporate into head presure !

I'm looking to start hitting 350 or more, and I only fill the 10 lb bottle with 9 lbs... I'm bringing one for every pass I plan to make, or putting the refill station in the trailer.

I'd blame it on the track officals.
