You actually met an adjuster? Usually those guys are like the Chupacabra, you've heard of them but no one has actually seen one. I've had to have cars looked at three different times, never once did I actually see the adjuster. Even when the guy came to my work to look at the car, I was inside the building 20 feet away, never saw the guy.

It must be a tough job to be the middle man in a shitty situation though.

Oh boy, was at the shop today they got it all apart. They found additonal fender, trim, support, and radiator damage and a couple other things. They are waiting for the adjuster to come back probably monday. They need another 4-5 grand!!!!
well it looks like if the first estimate was boarderline, then it looks like the car could be done. I should find out in a couple days. sucks.
The wife and I did go test drive a few newer grand cherokees to ease the pain. Those new ones have come a long way.

When I lost my Camaro the first qoute was more then the book value. The guy on the phone told me they figured in book value and actual value. He said the car wasnt being made anymore and he found alot of them were selling for more then Kelly Blue Book value so he added a few grand ontop of what I should of got. I suppose I could of haggled for more but I thought that was pretty nice of them....it saved me a headache and alot of time so I just took the check.

I am in the same boat. I have my 98 4runner with 150k. No issues new tires drives fine and 4wd for the winter. I am just sick of it and i want somethign new/nice. Trying to decide what to do. I have put 50k on it with no issues, this truck owes me nothing at all.
But I do like being payment free, and then I have more money for the car. But I would just love a TBSS

Yeah its a tough call.... No payments is real nice, but getting a beater is a flip of the coin. Plus i'm looking at gas hogs, so car payments and gas hogs suck, but it is what it is. I'd buy a beater if it had what i was lookign for for the right money, but I haven't found it yet really.
Far as jeeps go looks like i could get into a used 05-06 limited GC for around $300 a month with a couple down. I'm leaning towards the 4.7 but the hemi looks interesting. They use the same tranny so I'm wondering how the longevity is with the tranny in those hemi's.

DO NOT and I repeat, DO NOT buy a 4.7. We cannot keep up with the amount of 4.7's we sell. Our reman company is 2 weeks out backlog on these as well. I get at least 2 calls a day on 4.7's.

seriously I thought the 4.7 was a great motor. Been on wards list and used in a ton trucks. Maybe its just because there as so many vehicels with them you see more? Plus they have gone though various revisions over the years. Do you know what years you are looking at? I would hope an 05+ motor would last a long time.
