"Controversy Creates Ca$h "- Eric Bischoff

I see a QB Controversy coming down and it may not be good for the W/L record but money is going to be made.

the only excuse would be an injury.

I too think Vick will be in by game 9.... So you're not alone...

I foresee a great demise of the Eagles in the near future...

Oh, and Ill be one of the surprised Kolbies... I don't see him amounting to anything great.

You don't think will be a starter?
I think you guys are nutz.
I personally think he will be named the starter before pre season is over. They are going to compete for the starting job, there is no reason not to let them compete for it.
MV might have lost a step, maybe, I don't think so but maybe, but even his lost step or two is still faster than anyone else in the NFL.

Call up a Philly columnist or sports talk radio personality and see what they have to say about Vick starting for the Eagles.

Again I'm willing to bet on it. The entire notion that Vick becomes the starter for the Eagles is crazy, barring injury. Donovan McNabb is ten times the quarterback Vick is, and there's no way they trade McNabb and start Vick. They want a prototypical pocket passer with a 65-70% completion rating that sticks to the fundamentals. They have a young team and want to rejuvenate it with a new lead. The offense is looking for a new leader, and McNabb's personality wasn't the best for their current situation.

Who was Brent Celek before this season? How come all the sudden Brent Celek is an all-pro caliber player? Kolb and Celek were roommates on the road, came up in the same draft, and once Kolb was at the helm he threw to Celek often because he was comfortable with him. Once McNabb was back in, they realized the potential of Celek and continued to work him into the offense. Imagine what the offense will be like once Kolb is more comfortable with the other receivers.

Take it from someone who lives here, watches the games and follows the organization. Never gonna happen and I'll gladly put a friendly wager on it!

lol apparently he wasnt running around his cell enough cause he sure looked like he lost a step or two last season.

Kolb is without a doubt the starter, he showed a tremendous amount of potential last year. I don't think anyone in philly is expecting a superbowl year so i really dont see any desperation switch to vick baring an injury.

no...Kolb was allready named the Started..there is no QB starting job to compete for...its allready Kolb's job...end of story. i dont care how fast Vick is, the guy couldnt hit the ocean with a rock standing on the pier. he's an awfull QB. whoever wants him to start doesnt know the game of football all that well.

also agreed 100%.

bottom line is...i dont think you'll find any Philly fan that would want Vick as a starter. everyone that says that'll happen arent even Eagles fans.

I'm not an Eagles fan, I don't hate them or anything but I think it's foolish not to have them compete for the starting role in training camp and you can bet your last dollar if Vick has a killer camp, a camp that he performs better than Kolb and has a good pre-season, better than Kolb, he will be the starter.
You don't have to be a dedicated Eagles fan to know that the NFL is all about putting the BEST players on the field and if you as an Eagles fan buy into the notion that Kolb is going to be the starter no matter what and that the coaches and owners aren't going to be comparing the 2 all through training camp and pre-season and putting hte guy that performs BEST on that field opening day then you are on CRACK!

Coach Andy Reid: "Obviously, we have a lot of confidence in Kevin Kolb to make this decision, and he will be the starting quarterback. We see leadership and athletic ability. He does a nice job reading defenses... has a pretty good feel for the position."

Vick: "Whatever I'm asking to do, that's what I'll be available to do. Andy said Kevin is going to be the starter and that's what it is. He's the coach. My job is to come in every day and ultimately try to get better and get myself ready for any role that I have to play, whether it's behind center at quarterback or wherever it may be."
Preseason isn't going to mean anything. Kolb was drafted for the day Donovan moved on. There were a lot of eagles fans who were like WTF when they did, but either way im glad we have kolb and i would be far less enthusiastic about this season if it were vick being named the starter. Kolb is the future, Vick was just a gimmick.

and what makes you think Vick can still play at a high level??? the guy was out of Football for 2 years...he's clearly lost a step. he was never a good passer (which you need to be in a west coast offense) so i cant imagine thats improoved any. he was brought in for 1 reason and 1 reason only...for all the Gimmick plays. Kolb was drafted to be the starter....he's the Aaron Rodgers of the Eagles (and im not comparing skill level between Kolb and Rodgers just saying their situations are very similer). its Kolbs team now...i dont care if he stinks it up in pre-season, he'll be there opening day and beyond.

are the eagles really picking up vicks 5.2 million dollar salary for next season? they had to pay him 1.5 million as a roster bonus.

kolb has been named the starter for now.

im just saying eventually this season vick will get a starting spot as QB at least one game, philly fans have a huge influence over the decisions made by that team, thats why they have never really amounted to a dynasty. U watch kolb will have a few bad games in a row, fans will scream to replace him with the fast exciting vick, andy reid will eventually do it, at least for one game

LOL dude that could not possibly be more wrong, they booooooed the **** out of mcnabb when he was drafted yet he was here for 11 years. Who did the fans want instead, Ricky Williams and look how that played out. I am from philly and im a huge fan, i can actually say i gave up my season tickets because our fans our dumb as dirt and half of them seem to think they coach the eagles. I would rather sit at home alone and cheer for them than listen to some of the idiot fans we have.

Hell real fans have been wanting andy reid out a very very long time ago and that hasnt happened. I would have been more happy to see andy go than donovan

i really cant believe ppl are actually doing this...lol. The only reason that Vick would maybe and i mean maybe ''get every opportunity'' to become the starter...and this would be a poker game from the philly managment, is to get him reps, make him look good, IF he still can, and than trade him mid season when hes at the peak he can be, ad pick up a vetern west coast offense QB to be kolbs backup.

And for teh comment that Vick maybe lost a step, but is still fast.....That is the point all us ''knowledgable'' ppl are trying to make you all realize. Thats all he is, a athlete...his completion percentage is worse than ryan leaf probably, lol.

And the mike bell signing...i am always a guy that looks at it this way. if the saints didnt match the offer even with a back like Bush that isnt the best true RB, and how bell is this great hard runner, why did they just give him up? I reallyh feel like the eagles just filled the void with wat theh could get, good or bad. Theyh should have spend the money this year and got a offer out to at least chester taylor and/or julius peppers....just my opinion
