Default Raising funds for Big Mac Z (Bob McDonald)

I know Bob didn't post much but he was a very active participant on our local board EFA - Eastern F-Body Association.

The link on EFA provides a good bit of information: http://www.easternfbody.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=52189

His own words on some of the events of the past 18 months can be found here: http://www.easternfbody.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=51832

Bob is a married man with a young son. These past 18 months have been extremely tough on him and his family. To summarize some of what has happend:

1) Was hit by a car while crossing the street last fall by a teenage girl who wasn't paying attention. Broke his pelvis in 2 places and severely damaged his leg.

2) While recovering from those injuries, the doctors determined that he had advanced colon cancer.

3) He and his wife discovered they were expecting child #2

4) While preparing to handle the colon cancer, it was discovered that it had spread into his stomach.

5) Surgery resulted in an infection and a gaping wound in his stomach.

6) While in recovery, it was determined that one of his lymph nodes was cancerous and would require an additional 6 months of chemo.

7) After using the expected birth of his daughter as his goal to keep focused on his recovery, we learned that she didn't make it. Above all other issues he went through, this by far devestated him more than anything.

It's a tough story to hear let alone listen to. We at EFA have taken up the cause to raise some money for him and his family. While "Cash" may seem cold - it's the most versitile gift we can give. Him and his family can decide how and when to use it. It's their choice.

I am collecting money via my paypal account (other arrangements can be made if need be) at WSigafoose@aol.com.

Our intent is to let this "fundraiser" run its course for a few weeks at least so we can hopefully generate a useable collection of money.

I know nearly none of you personally know Bob. His involvement was limited on Ls1tech. But he was a big participant in EFA and always willing to help out anyone who needed a hand. He was a standup guy and a guy who was good for our hobby. I am asking you to do what you can do. $5 from several people still adds up.

Thank you in advance.

Will

Thanks Shiz. I hope LS1tech can come through with a few donors here. Even $5 means a lot.

Thanks in advance.

Actually Ryan, he had a shop right in the small business park at Merritt Boulevard and North Point Rd (in front of the storage place-can't recall name of shop), then after several years downsized and opened a small one man shop off of Dundalk Avenue. He used to open up his shop and toolboxes every Thursday night for fellow F body guys to do mods on their own cars...never asked for a nickel.

I met Bob so long ago that he used to actually pay/hire me to work on/mod his cars...this was probably 25 years ago, long before he got into the hands on side of the hobby.

He's a good guy that needs some help.

Brian - got your donation. Thank you very much!

TTT guys. We've got a few hundred in the pot for Bob. Would like to see that grow.

Anything will help.

Mike, I am still accepting donations. Thinking about ending it at some point next week like Fireball stated. I am more looking to reach a financial goal than anything. If need be, I will make up the difference myself. But money is coming in slowly but steadily. Still waiting on a few well-knowns to chip in.

Mike, I got one from a Lisa. Would that be your donation under a different persons name? In other words, I didn't see one from a "Mike" or one that references LS1tech, etc. But I did get one from a Lisa - but again, it makes no mention of what board they are from or what their handle is. Let me know so I can get the info right. Thanks again!
