I don't know what you're talking about Jay with that statement.
I posted a simple basic fact about engines with power adders. Nothing more. Apparantly you would rather continue this pissing match instead of learning something about how an engine works. My bad. I won't offer anything else.

He is saying that a 347 ci Mustang that weights 2500 lbs and is being sprayed within an inch of its life or beyond
is just as fast or faster than my 3250 lb 427 Corvette, that was barely even sipping any N2O, etc...
Nothing else I have typed for the last several pages matters?
I really don't pay him any mind neither should you.
BINGO!

Jay would be correct. There are plenty of SBF Nitrous Mustangs that neither of you two can handle.

OK, enough busting *****
Seems we reached (or will soon reach) the limit for our 8.50 chassis cert. in the EFI Q 8. It was fun while it lasted, but lets face it, cars are getting faster and something has to be done.
So now what?
Is it going to turn into a 8.50 index, to please RP. (Unless people upgrade to 7.5 cert.)
Plus the car count might even get smaller because of a few cars will dominate.
What's the feelings on making the Quick 8 a 9.00 0r 9.50 index race with an all run field to raise car count.?
Maybe WE/I should start a thread about this???????

I have no intentions of upgrading my 8.5 cert. I'm racing the 8.5 index classes and that is where I've decided to stop. This class was started to have fun and hang out with the guys and share some laughs. It's starting to get too fast in my opinion.
I would love to hear from others on this as well so we can all agree on a solution... Rick

I'm glad you brought this question up Jay. I was talking about this a few days ago with Barry. It is starting to get too fast for this area of racers and I think there should be a limit.

If you guys are going to propose an index, my advice to you is to take into consideration setting it at 8.50 might not be the best if you are trying to avoid the next level of cert. Why? Because to run 8.50 year-round you have to go quicker than 8.50...maybe 8.0 and thus will get the equipment and then one or two will dominate and you will be exactly where you are. Ask me how i know?
If you are going to propose an index, I would suggest you think hard about setting it above 8.50 like 9.0 if you want a round number or 8.90 if you want to copy nhra numbers or want to keep the 8-second feel.

I was thinking 9.0 on the same lines as to what Edgar was saying.
Jay, Sonny, Charlie, P.J., Frank, Myself, and even Barry will easily be able to run 9.0. Not breaking out will be the hard part and I think it will be more fun.
Hopefully this format will draw more cars.
I think we start with a poll on this matter on what everyone thinks it should be.
Right now I know Charlie, Jay, and myself would like the 9.0 index.
Please add to this discussion with your vote on what the index should be... Thanks.Rick

Boy, I'm glad you guys are cool with this idea. We (9.50 ECS racers & Doug@ECS) have been thinking about this ever since the Corvette Challenge 9.5 class lost their sponsorship. Problem was there's just not enough cars of the same model to fill a faster class.
I guess another big issue would be- Is this class going to be limited to LS based cars only?
I havn't been around E-town in "the old days" but didn't the EFI class used to allow all EFI cars to race?
I'd like to see about (5) 9.0 or 9.5 & 11.50 EFI index races,(maybe even 10.50) not all ran on the same day as the Corvette Challenge.
The rules also have to be tweaked alittle, for instants allowing Deep Staging in 11.50

As it is now there is never a full feild in the quick 8 so allowing it to go faster then 8.50 will push the car count down even more. This year we would enter the quick 8 just to support the race when there was no other GTO race with the EFI series that day. We where not looking to win the race (did have a runner up this year) but just to support it to make sure the race stayed as Melissa & I both like watching it.
I would like to see a cap of 9.0 or 9.50 more on the 9.50 side so if my build goes as planed i have a class to race in
The 11.50 EFI index is pretty dead for some reason if they had 10 cars show up for the 5 races it was alot, its such a shame.

1. It wasn't on the same day as the Corvette Challenge
2. If deep staging was allowed
3. And something about, Barry can kiss their ***?????????
We got some ideas for a better point system, payout and trophies also.

Why do you think the Pro. 10.50 CC Index was so HOT this year.
Barry needs to create a 10.50 Index class now in GMEFI!
Jay should just count his blessings that I didn't put a cage in my car and didn't race in the 9.50 CC Index!
(or should I say Dave & Dave)

This coming from the guy with the one of the fastest LSX cars in the entire country!
Rick has heads that only a few people in the entire world own!
Custom Jesel this, tall deck that, sheet metal this, parachute that,
Etc...Etc...
What are you going to run 9.0 at half throttle NA, with a Nitrous set up and lift at the 1000' mark?
