My procharger was alot of fun and I really enjoyed it. I have heard good things about Kentucky speeds turbo kits and they do make an AC kit. might be one to consider.

Brien,

I'm currently driving a 135 hp Elantra. Not sure if thats too much car for you or not? Also, its a 5 speed not a 6 speed?

Good to hear from you Kenny.... how's things going.

Actually, my daily driver is part of the reason I'm considering a turbo. I have a Saab 9-3 that has a turbo charged 2.0L that puts out 210hp and 230ft/lbs at like 1800rpm. With a programmer, that easily goes up to 240hp and 270 ft/lbs by simply raising the factory boost from 12psi to 17psi. Supposedly, people are safely running upwards of 24psi of boost in them without motor issues, transmissions are a different story.

I think I'm going to go bigger cubes in all honesty. I think it suits my driving style best.

Hmmm, maybe I can kill 2-3 birds with one stone..... get the car dyno'd, windows tinted, and test ride a few different setups while there.

Have a 6.0 with a 76mm sitting down here. Its a dog though

How fast do you want to go is the ? We could reproduce Ashleys 11:1 427 put a 6 speed behind it and itll drive anywhere and scare the crap out of most people. And still go 9s while getting 20+ mph on the highway. And for some people that just wouldnt be enough

Things are going well, I'm still down in NC....How often will you be driving the car? Bigger cubes of course are always cool but forced induction is just so much damn fun. The drivability of forced induction cars is just awesome!

Well, I finally made my decision and I'm going to do a Procharger with a FMIC.

I bought the intercooler and tubing to fab up the FMIC and I bought Aster's bracket so that I won't have to worry about belt slippage. I'll most likely pick up a new D1SC unless a deal pops up on one. I plan to run about 8-9 psi at first and get eveyrthing squared away.

I'll spend the spring and summer getting parts then start the project this fall. It should be fun. I honestly think I enjoy wrenching on the car as much as driving it. I guess that's what makes it a hobby.

Thanks for everyone's input and suggestions.

I hope so. It'll be a fun project and fun ride in the end, not that it isn't already.
