Default Taking your cats out in northern va?

Does anyone know how to get around emissions and inspection because they check for cats. Can anyone help me out. When I buy headers and y pipe I don't want cats. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well if you buy headers they will automatically relocate the cats so you will fail visual inspection regardless. get a good set of cats like the magnaflow spun metallic ones and a good tune and you should still be able to pass the sniffer.

Ok thanks id like to just take them out though. I know you can program out the rear o2 sensors so that would get me around emissions but I can't figure out the inspection part.

you can program out the O2 sensors but as soon as they hook the OBDII scanner up they will flag it and you will fail.

find another town you can register the car in that does one or the other, or none. there are tons of highly mod'd cars in this state. you just gotta look around.

I live in a county with emissions and I registered it in a county that don't require emissions. I haven't got LT's or ORY yet but its in the near future..

Could always get your car inspected before doing the work. Not sure how long it is where you live but you will be good for 2 years. Also, i had this same problem, and my car being a daily driver I wanted somethnig that at first glance would be cats so i got this:

OBX brand Headers + Y Pipe. I have bought 2 sets of them and have had great results with them. The resonators that look like cats are hollow completely, they are just bulges.

My car is registered in Fairfax County and has passed the last 3 inspections with LT's, ORY, and Dynatech cat's. I have my rear 02's programmed out so my OBDII scan is clean every time.

culpeper is just a visual. No issues, I could gut them if I really wanted too.
