Default 1999 C5 with 136,000 miles

What issues should I look for in a C5 with this many miles??
Supposebly they are highway miles.
Or should I run away?

You want to know if the radiator and battery and alternater had been replaced. The water pump lasts a little longer but that would be a huge plus if the water pump were replaced already. If the tranny is slipping or you here a ticking or knocking in engine then don't buy it. Other wise do not get scared of the miles. Pay $9,000.00 - $12,000 for the car. Good luck.

try and take a good look at the leaf springs. depending on the suspension package some of them crack. & w/ that kinda mileage they could be worn pretty good.

Anything 80K and up you should be looking are wear items. Owner should have work done and recipts to prove it. A good under chassis inspection wont hurt. IF your not mechanically inclined, pay a shop to do it.

If the owner has not dont much in the upkeep dept, you should not be paying what he wants.

A4 or M6? If A4 has the tranny been flushed, serviced regularly or ever rebuilt. If M6 stock clutch? If replaced how many miles are on it?

Have it inspected by a chevrolet dealer, and don't worry about anything else. Check the carfax and make sure the car isn't stolen, lol.

Mileage doesn't matter if the car has been taken of. I'd look at the suspension and check to see if the car had problems with app and traction/control. Also the clutch and torque tube.
