We need to get a petition like this going in VA, I got a ticket the other day for not having a front tag on my car. I'm sick of getting hassled over such petty **** that in the end the only real reason behind it is so the state can put more money in their pockets.

I signed it a while back, but I don't think anything will come of it. Wrote to my state delegates too, got a generic "I'll look into it" reply.
My proposed solution is to allow those of us who don't want to run one to apply for an exemption. If we have a clean or at least decent record, let us pay a fee to be exempt from the front plate. Everyone's happy that way; the state gets more money, and we can ditch the ugly front plate.
