When there's a few inches its fun going out and drifting and other shenanigans honestly. Not many people out to get in the way. Plus you're learning how to control your car in inclimate conditions a cop can't really yell at you for that right?

Not everyone has room for two cars, the urge to maintain a shitbox year-round just for a few snowy days, etc.
My V has been perfect with winter tires here in VA, but there are maybe 10 days a year when I have to drive in snow to work (though it does great in it). The only problem would be the ground clearance, but that would be about the same as any FWD sedan. A C5, ground clearance might be more of a concern.
