Default Where should I bring my car for a cam swap?

I was thinking of bringing it to new england dyno since I live outside of Worcester. I would think it would take no more than 8 hours for the labor. Any suggestions?

That is correct. Cam ,springs ,timing chain ,porting of oil pump ,ported tb ,oil change ,fully installed and tuned. Tax included Nevermind we are a shop that does cam swaps like this weekly so there is no question of having it done right the first time.

Okay cool. I was planing on just getting the T2 cam kit from tsp w / springs and rods. Then of course a tune. Id like to keep the stock chain and oil pump for now.

Yes talk to Don at Slowhawk about the cam first. He did mine over three years ago and it is still running great, 434rwhp and 407tq cam only ls2 on his mustang dyno. It put my car at 11.71 cam only on the same tune he put in for me to spray on!

I would never/ ever do a cam swap without a timing chain upgrade. When the stock chain breaks it destroys the motor.

The car has 35k if that matters much. Thats why I thought I could keep the stock chain..

Not doing the timing chain and oil pump is only going to save you $300-$400 in the end. It's a lot cheaper than buying a new engine when the stock chain lets go.

It's definitely worth doing, even if you have to put the cam on hold until you can afford it.

i agree with above, I was about to do it without a timing chain and oil pump but at the last minute I decided it would be worth it.

Thats what I thought. I just saw ALOT of cammed cars on here running the stock chain / oil pump.

Doesn't matter if the car has 10 miles on it. The stock chain on the car is weak. We will not do a job that we know has a high failure rate.

Another vote for Slowhawk here. Ive put over 15K miles on my car since a h/c swap and havent had any issues. That includes 2 2000+ mile road trips.
