mazdaspeed6 vs 05 legacy gt
which would you guys rather for a dd? found a great deal on both. the lgt is an auto, the ms6 is a 6speed. i am thinking if i got the ms6 i can leave my ws6 an auto, and if i go for the lgt i am thinking of a t56 swap...

I work at a mazda dealer but know people off the forum who have speed 3's and 6's modded up. Iv owned an auto lgt and driven plenty of speed 6's including a slightly modded/tuned one and not bad cars. Every car has its problems. I like the mazda over the legacy for the fun and comfort. If you go with the speed change your oil every 3k. Buy a rear diff brace because when beaten on the rear diff bracket shears right off and the diff flops down. If your planning to mod pm me and il tell you the do's and donts. I currently own a 12' ms3 fully bolted on stock turbo and 93 oct and make 305/336.

i had a 5 speed 6s loaded and i love the look and feel of them. if that damn poll didnt jump out in front of me a couple years ago, it would prob still be my dd... but i love subies too the wrxs are a little harsh for what i am looking for. which 1 do you think would be easier to mod the ms6 or lgt?

I have a 06 legacy GT Spec B. best DD ever. Ive had a bunch of subbys. love them. they are great year round. my spec B has a forged motor, arp bolts and studs through out. upgraded turbo, PPG transmission, excedy clutch, should make 350-375 awhp next weekend. before that I had a 05 gt limited, stock turbo, tuned, full exhaust, intake. it was a blast.

I was at the same decision on my last car. Drove both. Modded and stock. Went with the Legacy. Just felt sportier. But I bought one already stage 2 with sways and springs.
While I had it I took it to coilovers and added catback and a TMIC upgrade. I loved that car. Went with the V because at that point my LGT was basically at the point of turbo upgrade and built trans. And the V was same speed stock.

I work in Attleboro and I am sure glad I had 4wd for my daily driver this year. When I buy a beater again next fall it will be 4wd too. I'd get the legacy just based on that if it's your winter vehicle.

To OP: If you do go down the Legacy path keep stock boost until you plan for internals is what I'm saying.

you dont have to stay STOCK. stage 2 on a stock turbo is VEYR safe. Say 17-18psi max. Fun little cars at that level. Anything above. Built it. And at a reliable shop.

Yep. First STi cracked rings. Second STi cracked 3 pistons and broke a 1/4 off the fourth one!! I repeat no more Subaru's.....especially boosted ones since I'm running a N/A Forester. LOL
