I use to go all the time since its quite literally in my back yard but in years past the events gotten so mainstream (not to sound like a hipster) and has been flooded with non-car people that it makes me a nervous wreck to go out there with the vehicle. Two years ago I watched some kid get slamed on someone elses hood as a result of some drunken altercation. I really dont even enjoy spectating anymore because it usually turns into a shitshow. Every local bro for 100 miles and his gaggle of females sees the event as a big drunken party. Its so far from being about cars now that its almost sad. Even track regulars have started calling it poser fest lol. Seems to me they really lost sight of what they were trying to accomplish. Ill be Bristol bound friday to watch the big boys play at thunder valley instead this year lol.
I will admit it isnt what it used to be. I too have been going for years. I tend to park out of the way of the crowds(jefferson circuit normally) or in the car show. I also normally leave well before it ends(miss the roll over and daisy duke contests but you also miss the overly drunk people)
