Picked up a new ride over the weekend
Replaced the wife's G6 GT with this,
CPO 2011 Regal CXL Turbo T07 package, adaptive suspension and 19” option (Carbon black)
The only year built in Russelsheim Germany I think. (basically an opel/vauxhall Insignia, car is far from GM standard affair)
Plus M6
Its a very well put together car, drives great, decent mpg, quick enough, Overall it's really enjoyable, I recommend them for a daily jack of all trades kinda car.
It needs a detail.....

I drove a mid tier cxl turbo and automatic, I did not like it much.
Suspension, wheels, stick, make all the difference in the world on this car. I just gotta remember reverse is top left and not bottom right ,lol. Its not the perfect manual I can complain about the long gates and being a bit notchy, but its driver friendly and the fun factor is there.
We both like the car a lot, I got an awesome warranty and a fair deal. They had many new 14's on the lot, very nice, a few GS's too, but no sticks...

normal driving I was seeing like 32-33hwy in 6th, prob 20-22 around town. It's all about the right foot, stay out of boost and its pretty economical. Car does weigh 3700lbs and has big wheels so I thought it was respectable.
Price was negotiated and I got it well under 18k, I got full trade in nada for the other car. 2yrs free maintenance and opted for the additional 100k 5yr bumper to bumper warranty. (I normally don't do extended warranty's but that was also negotiated and these newer cars can be worth it sometimes)

By the way, there's a few tried and true tunes out there that will put you at or above GS horsepower levels with minimal impact to mileage. The Turbo and GS basically have identical motors and turbos, the GS just runs more boost. A GS will put down 220-230 on a dyno, a tune gives it about 20-30 more at the wheels.
buickforums.com has a '11+ Regal section that's decent for information.

If I could put a lsx into everything I would but its just not as economical, lol.
The Insignia turbo diesel has gotten good reviews across the pond, I woulda bought a diesel if they had em' here. Can't beat the tq and mpg.

Yes I think its Trifecta that still does the tuning, and 260+ on a dynojet is common. I am thinking about it, but don't want to waste that money spent on warranty either . But I will certainly look into it.
The new Regal's with the ATS's 2.0 and Haldex AWD looks awesome (but no stick awd)

When we got this we considered the cruze but the interior dimensions were a little smaller than we wanted. But they def get better mpg. If you like you cruze check out the verano, same car but in Buick trim, looks very similar to the Regal. In fact the turbo model is faster than the regal turbo because it weighs a few hundred lbs less.
I really wanted one of the new impalas, but I really did not want to buy a brand new car. Checked out some Lacrosses too, we both agreed we were just not old enough yet
The newer Malibu's turbo's looked pretty nice too.
We decided on a true midsize, but something fun to drive with atleast 30 mpg hwy, manual transmission was desirable. I had been eyeballing these for a while and found one the way I wanted it. Had it of been 5 yrs ago I might have opted for a cobalt ss, but the regal is dressed up much nicer, bigger and travels better. Its a good everyday commuter that has some nice lines and I think is enjoyable to drive. My wife "liked" the car when we got it, but now I don't think you could pry it from her hands lol.
(Way down inside I wanted a G8GT, but they are just not as economical, and they are overpriced in the used market)

Congrats very nice car... I too was in the market last year for a Regal Turbo but got an ATS Turbo with AWD at a great price. I love the ATS and its great handling in any weather with the AWD. Its incredible the amount of power it has from only 2.0 liter's.

I've been looking at a 2011+ turbo regal for awhile as a DD, just can't find the exact layout i want for price I want.
Nice thing about the non-GS is you can run e85. New company IPF just came out with tunes for them also.
