That being said i was interested in going this year. Due to my job I am forced to pick my vacations several months in advance. The vacation picks also go by seniority on the job. The best week i could pick just happened to be during cruisin week.

I typically visit OC during off season due to the vacation picking issue, normally pay around $50 a night for a motel room. When I checked prices for 2016 cruisin week I was shocked. The same motels are now $200-$300 a night. Whats funny is I checked prices a few weeks ago before the dates of cruisin week were announced and the were only about $90 a night. I dont remember ever paying several hundred dollars a night for a room. How long have room prices been this high? I thought about sharing a room with friends but a majority of properties only allow parking for 1 vehicle. Does anybody have suggestions on a more affordable room?
The prices are high, we usually rent a house but the place we usually get for $850 is over $2000 so we will probably just skip it this year.

wow thats insane.
as long as people keep paying the steep prices they will continue to creep higher every year, i wonder where the tipping point will be and enough people stop going.
is cruisin week before or after high school senior week?

You can also use homeaway and VRBO and other sites. Rent from a condo or house owners. Can be MUCH cheaper.

And senior week is June. I will NEVER be in OC in June ever again. They call all the kids June Bugs. And its more than a week as different schools let out different times.

Staying at the Carousel this year with some buddies. They have an awesome parking garage as well. I think we're paying $175 per night, which isn't bad at all. Hoping to have a nice turnout with 0% rain!

And the place on 100th street, do I have to call ahead of time to reserve a trailer spot or is it first come first serve?

I always rent a place in Bethany. It's nice. Nobody messes with my car, parking a trailer is easy and it's nice to have some quiet at night.

That's exactly where i go. It's one of the last streets on the way out near the McDonald's. Not a bad price either. 4 bedroom house for 4 nights for $500 flat.

Definitely going this year. Probably wed-sun. Not sure if I want to stay down on the boardwalk or somewhere quiet uptown yet.

Carousel is always a good choice and they have a parking garage.

Does anyone know if the carrousel allows trailer parking? We usually rent a house but this year I might just stay there. My family has a house in slaughter beach about an hour up the road so that might be an option as well...
