Default IHRA peckerheads....

Well, the NHRA relaxes the rule for rollbars to 11.49 and faster, and the IHRA moves the rollbar rule to 13.49 and faster if you run a T-top car....What morons. Bye Bye New England Dragway. WJ

Great... Maybe I can get someone to fill my roof... It's gonna suck when most LS1 cars are going to need a cage for their first mod.

Oh come on, they're looking out for your safety! Solid roof cars with lap belts and drum brakes all the way around are so much safer than your t-top, abs, air bag cars!

I wonder if the rule only applies for special events that IHRA host's. Even then, who the heck wants a roll cage just to run an event or two every year in a daily driver. I wonder if I can buy stock options in Wolfe

That IHRA rule is nuts! but if it's true about un-modded t-tops what does that include everyone mod it to some extent. is it unmodded motor ummodded suspension? Oh well maybe I should just leave my car the way it is and concentrate on finishing my 68 Firebird. I'll put a roll-cage in that, **** that will need it.

If you pull down a headliner on a solid roof 4th gen. F-body, you will find that other than the solid roof skin, both solid and T-roof cars are structually virtually the same. 90% of all 4th gen coupes are T-roof cars. Believe it or not, there is very little difference in weight between similar-optioned solid and T-roof cars. IMO, the 13.49 IHRA T-top rule only proves that the NHRA is (and always was) a superior organization.....Usually, the tech people at NED are too lazy to get down and look under our cars to check for a driveshaft loop! They're more interested in seeing if you've got a "snell 95" sticker on your helmet.... Question: If 2 F-body's flipped at speed, going thru the traps, 1 a solid roof car, and 1 a T-roof car, which one would slide the farthest? (Prize for most original answer.) WJ
