quick battery tender ?

quick battery tender ? Will it be alright If I kept the battery charged outside of the car for the time being. Its just that it has been dead for a while, so there really no point in running a cord out to the car(30ft) for no real reason.
Though I will be charging it in the car after I put it back in and run the car again.
It will be sitting in the garage charging.

That will be no problem at all. I always pull mine and keep it fresh on the bench with the tender all winter long. I feel for some chance if the battery wants to puke, i'd rather it puke on my bench than in the car

It's an old wife's tail left over from when batteries weren't that good. There is no reaction through the plastic case. If this was the case, what would the reaction be from sitting in a car with a metal battery box? Not many cars have them, but the bat, is insulated.
But I admit, old ways die hard, I still put my battery on something and not on the floor.

I still put a piece of wood under mine anyway...like you said, old habits die hard. Plus, I feel that it kinda acts like an insulator from the cold floor...but mostly just old habits die hard.
