Default Deposit Made!

Stopped down @ Eastside Saturday, made the deposit on the spring project. Car's going in 1st or 2nd week of March... gotta see how long it will take to get the parts, get cam ground, etc. But here's this year's mod list:

Moser 12 bolt, 33 sp. axles, alum cover, 1350 yoke, 4.10 gears, locker diff, if they're available. If not, HD posi unit.

Relocation brackets for rear

3.5 inch HD alum driveshaft W 1350 yoke for rear

Adjustable Eastside LCA's and PHB to square up rear of car.

Spohn HD chromoly swaybar... mounts in stock location, 1 in. dia. Great alternative for those who wanna go with a heavier rear sway bar for drag use, but don't wanna go with the bmr, spohn or wolfe style mounts that are a little harsh for a street duty car that occasionally sees the track

Eastside cam, spec's not to be disclosed. Not a trex size, just a decent cam that will still drive realtively well, and make good HP, looking for around 400 to the tires when it's all said and done.

Valve springs, tit. retainers, hardened pushrods, new timing chain.

I'll be sticking around the first day, I'll steal my buddy's digital camera, try to get some pic's of stuff while it's getting done the first day.. too bad I won't be able to stick around for the whole process, but hey, gotta pay the bills.
I know a couple people wanted to see the spohn tq arm and the qtp y pipe and how it was made to fit on my car, I'll get those while it's up in the air, and as many other good pic's as I can while I'm there.

Should make the car alot more fun to drive this year for sure, should get the track #'s a little more respectable too.

Just wanted to thank Ken for all his help, looking foreward to the results, the before and after should be good. Now I'll be a menace to all those damn kids with their nos kits on the hondas that I seemingly run into every time I leave the pike on my way home on the highway. Let's see them keep up with this

It was nice to see you again. I didn't realize that you were getting all of that done. The car will definitely be different after all that. I'm interested to see how the locker works out.

Yes, thanks Scott, you have been a big help too! You are the parts researching man. Is the shop like the batcave... do I need a special card to get in or something ?
The locker should work out good. I didn't wanna go spool... that's a little rough for a car that will still be a mostly street/show car and see the track a couple times a year. The locker should be a bunch stronger than the regualr posi.... I read about too many people breaking those things. I'll let everyone know how it works out, as I'll be posting the results on here about the whole project. I'm sure that it will be fine, mustang guys use them all the time, and so do guys that go offroading with trucks.... and I never hear about anyone breaking them... they are just a little loud.
Chef's right... I'm not realy sick, I'm just addicted to fun. This car after this wave of mods.... should be alot of fun, and should hopefully be a mid to low 12 second car.... definately won't be a problem once I get on removing some weight fron the car ( K member, a arms, lightweight seats.... ) and a set of Hal's, but I got a house that I'll be closing on in a month... so that's gonna take up the cash for that stuff for a while. in the end, I hope to get teh car runnign in the 11's, with the power steering, A/C, radio all still intact. Should be no problem.

I'll keep everyone posted as to how thing's progress, car should be going in the first or 2nd week of march, parts will be ordered tis week, just have to wait for everything to show up.

Naah, I don't mind it being apart. I don't kno whwat Ken plans on doing first, I assume the rear, as he wanted to measure for the driveshaft.... so it won't get made until after the 12 bolt is in. THe cam will go in while he's waiting for the D/S to show. I don't know that for sure, but that's what I assume will happen anyway.

Hmmm....... as much as I would like to... can't do it. Getting married on the 17th. Can't exactly move the wedding either. Gonna have to wait until next year for that one man. I will me bringing the car to LVD on memorial day weekend. That weekend LVD is hosting the 2nd annual Hemmings musclepalloza. A cool car show/drag weekend, with pretty open rules for saturday, and strict factory stock type rules for Sunday, mostly old car stuff. I went last year, went 3 rounds with my stock f1's and headers only on my car, had a blast. It's like 30 or 40 bucks to enter too, cheap, and if you get there when they open, they let you get 4 pratice runs in, better than most test/tune days. I'd reccommend that everyone in teh area with no plans that weekend make plans to go there.. good time.

That weekend I won't be going max effort for the fastest E.T... I'll do like I did last year, just try to go rounds, and have Lots of fun. It's bracket style racing, and knocking out old big block chevelles and whatnot is always fun... those guys get so upset when newer cars beat them. Brad... you get your ride all set, turn the NOS back so the car runs an easy 10.00, you could clean house there. Make the trip!

lol, i'll give you a head start. lol
your car should be consistant, my car is going out every time with somthing new to try to make it faster and faster, so a bracket race to me is more of abuse for no reason. but im sure i will bracket it once or twice this season. once will be the camaro firebird shootout.
