Bolt on here but, not for long.

It is pretty tough to get a low/flat 12 in a bolt on A4 unless you can hook like a bastard. I'm sure my car will run a 12.5 the way it sits now. The time in the sig was on a street night w/ no prep and it was 90 degrees out and very humid.

I think a converter is the most important thing for a bolt on car if you can hook. My next converter will probably be a ss4000, I just got a good deal on the TCI.

There is also this guy in a black '02 SS A4, aka/Curtis who will have something to say about that....He qualifies as a bolt-on car, I believe....But you can start out by picking on the little pretty-much-stock guys like me.... WJ

with a cartek x package head/cam he is far from just bolt-ons. honestly i think my low raceweight is whats gonna help me out. We'll find out in April what she can do with just Lid and Cutout, the car can run a 12.9 the way it sits, add more weight reduction, better tire, 3600 stall, 3:42's from 2:73's, and some tuning i dont see why i cant shave a good .8's off my time

Do you run at NED?
I would not be over confident of flat 12s. I would expect mid 12's w/ a decent launch, under 1.8.

Because of the weight reduction you might shave off a tenth more

If you go on a street night you'l never get a great launch anyways.

if many people on the board can pull 11's with bolt ons it cant be that hard

i know its not gonna be easy but i need to set a goal, what fun is it shooting for mid 12's, i'll do that in my sleep

I'd shoot for 12.4s first

the vert has a early heads, and small cam. flps, and sy3500.. so it ain't slow.. but it is heavy.

Most of the A4's on the board that run CONSISTENT 11's that are considered bolt-ons run a H/C pkg and Longtubes, along w/the normal bolt-ons such as suspension parts, u.d. pullies, taller gears, stout converter, real good-hooking tires, etc. And most are street cars that are not all gutted out interiors and AC removed, or power steering removed, etc. Creature comforts have to be left intact to call it apples for apples...This is my opinion. I thought H/C made the car internally modified, and not bolt-on only?

True, heads and/or cam cars are not 'bolt ons only'/stock internal cars.

Check out the cars in the 11 second club. Most all of their sigs. tell what they're running for mods and MOST are running H/C combos, or at least 1 or the other. 11's are most difficult naturally aspirated, stock heads and cam, stock exhaust manifolds, 3500 weight and above. Gutted out cars are a different story....Remember, every 100 lbs. subtracted from raceweight = 1/tenth off your et... I don't think the cars that resemble empty tuna cans inside are a fair comparison here--they should be qualified as all out racecars. Same w/cars that are trailered in and out of the track--these are also racecars--not true streetcars. As stated before, there are many people doing the high 11 deal throughout the country w/bolt-on street cars---but not many at all in our Eastern section, and only a handful in Eastern, Central, and Western Mass. Even low 12 second lightly modded cars are quite rare around here... Go to the track and pay attention. You will see.... WJ
