I sold my 7000 shares of Texas Instruments last week at 27.50, ****'s down to like the 24s again now so it was a good move, might buy it back if it goes any lower. That is if I can ever drag my *** outta bed before 1pm everyday.
So yes, business is indeed quite good.

Mike, you do union work? the jfk? we are an open shop, but we are not aloud to work at Logan, they have a no strike/union clause. how many guys do you have? a 6.5 mill project for us is between1-2 years work, we are just finishing up one of our largest jobs todate, it was 600 town house units. it was a little over 2 years, and now have about 2-3 months left on it. we did a couple schools, but they arnt our bag, we love townhouse/condo units, res houses, we do mostly smaller stuff ranging from 100 bucks to 600k however we have gone with larger bids, i bid a huge condo site, all new construction, it was like 500+ units, it was a little over 4 mill, but it hasnt been awarded yet.
anyway, for about 2 months there, we where sooo slow, it was scarie! but its coming back around! thank god.

99, Im in the process of buying an HVAC company, my old man started 36 years ago. he is tring to retire, and im in the procces of buying him out. im already 20%+ there right now, another 2-4 years, i should be 100%, and he is going to move to FLA for the winters, and NH for the summer.

Yes Brad, 100% union. I employ operating engineers, carpenters, laborers, cement mason, dock builders, metal lathers, and teamsters. We do a lot of Port Authority work for the Ny and NJ Port. You can't even think about getting into that work without being a union shop. It's tough, the unions are a pain in the *** to deal with.

I carry 25 company guys that stay with me year round. When we really pick up in the summer we usually double to about 50 guys. There are times where its much more. Back in 1995-1996 we did all the concrete work at Newark Airport's main terminal. There were 85 guys on that job alone. I was still in college then but I remember working on the field doing pick and shovel. All I remember is my Father bitching about the payroll every week, $110,000 per week on just that 1 job!!!

The forecast looks promising for the construction industry. It's a good feeling when you are busy and moving along. Slow times are good too, gives you more time to count all the money you made when you were busy, LOL!!

thats why such big jobs. lol, union is made for those jobs.
they are on us like stink on **** when we work in boston because they are slow right now, we have passed up about 5 jobs for that reason. we do some gov work, and we would even higher union, but havent had to yet. we did just finish a case with a Union salt, we laid him off along with 2 other guys, he went back to the hall, called it discrimination and it went to court ect ect what a pain.
once they pick up things should get better.
oh yhea, for the record a HVAC mech in boston gets $56 an hour!!!!!!

We actually like doing smaller jobs $250,000 and under. It goes quicker, there is less chance of something going wrong and the profit margin is always higher.
