run cats in maryland?

I've already heard that in MD the emissions testing is really nothing, just a code scan. So whats my chances of getting caught running no cats in MD? I want to get true duals and don't know whether to have cats or not. I don't know if i really have a choice but i originally just wanted to run them to be on the safe side, but now i can't make up my mind.

i went with cats, but 2 weeks after having them one (carsound cats) broke so i gutted them. somtimes they look for cats and somtimes they somtimes they dont depends on whos checking

Is that at emissions testing or inspection? I know i have to get emissions testing every two years, but i don't know when my car needs to be inspected. I just got the car inspected in january when i got it.

In Maryland your car is only inspected when you tag it the first time. So you won't get inspected again. Last time I took my car through emissions, they looked under the car, I would assume they where looking for cats. I have heard lately that they don't do this anymore, guess I'll find out next year. Other then that they test your tank and OBD2 plug.

if you dont have the codes deleted you'd end up failing the scan as well as a visual unless you gut cats that are already on the car.

for those in md with ory's, jus weld a couple heat sheilds on. theyll be none the wiser.

I was thinking the heat shields would be a good idea. Where can i get em? You think that'll work on true duals? The people at my VEIP test site dont look very mechanically inclined.
