coolant light, need some help

anyone have any advice or suggestions besides listed? I am a little nervous driving it, and seeing i have a long drive to slowhawks tomorrow. i don't mean to be a worry freak but i rather be safe than sorry..

first thing make sure the coolant is full second reset the computer. if that doesn't work then have Don scan it tommorow more then likely it is the sensor

Mine has stayed on for the last 2 months,

I check every so often to make sure its full, its the sensor, you can "A" clean it, that will probably help for a little while but it will come back on, "B" dissconnect it(cheap way) or, "C" buy a new sensor for oh say $40-$60 from GM or check out the part number and try GM Parts Direct - cheaper IMO.

Mines still on, just havn't messed with it, or care enough too....uugghhh...long as shes got coolant I'm not worried.

i know the coolant is full, hence when i said i checked it and it was fairly full and i added some more. now how do i reset the computer? let me know and ill do that tomorrow and see what happens

if u want to reset the computer discontect the battery for a little while, it will reset then.. most likely if ur coolant is full and the car is running at normal temp. it is probally just the sensor, when it gets to dons just have him check it out

Welcome to owning a 98.It is extremely common for 98 cars to have the coolant light on.Check the antifreeze level,if it's full don't worry about that stupid light.
