Default Motor Swap Techniques?

For those of you that have swapped motors without the use of a lift, did you remove the motor through the bottom or did you just squeeze it out the top?

Looking for a garage with a lift that I can borrow in western PA for a couple days and some $$$ to make the swap.

I have seen one come out the bottom without the use of a lift, just wondering how much more difficult it is to just yank her through the top...

Thanks in advance!

i pulled mine out the other nite through the top,no intake on the motor, ran the chain diagnolly across and picked up more on the front to get the back of the motor to clear the cowl, came right out i didnt really have anything else in my engine bay but i dont see it being a problem, from the time i put a wrench on the motor mount to my motor being on the stand was 8 mins haha

out the top isnt to bad , took the evil ones out today . it helps if you have the bumper off and a shorter hoist no intake, no accsy. no starter, just be carefull not to break the cowl
