Angry ABS Light!

The ABS light came on in my Camaro and I was wondering if there is a way to read what set it off? I know in Fords it's a major PITA to diagnose the ABS problems, but I was wondering if Chevy's are any easier? I pulled the 3 ABS fuses and checked those and I disconnected the battery for a minute to see if it would reset but had no luck. Any ideas or am I **** outta luck until I can have a mechanic look at it? Dammit, Chevy's are like women....expensive, high maintenance and you can't figure them out!

BTW the car does have line lock so I was wondering if that could affect the ABS at all.

were you using the line lock ? when the rear wheel speed exceedes the front wheels by to much itll trip a light just have to drive it a bit to go out.

second- check the sensors connectors and make sure there still hooked up

thats a starting point

I know on my 12 bolt for some reason the 4:11's set the light off when I am on the highway for alittle while. No biggie as long as it goes away next time you start the car

like he said. how long have u had the line lock on for? was it just installed? if so u might also have some air in the system. im sure there is someone on this board that lives around u that has a scanner that can read the codes to make sure its nothing to bad. good luck

Stangman, it could be the line lock like Keith said. I sent you an e-mail. You may want to pull the code.

I thought the same thing so I figured I would check it after my 42 mile ride to work and it's still on. Dunno, Sounds like there may be a code reader for the ABS though?

Thanks for the advice guys....I hadn't even tried the linelock on the car so I don't think that may be it, but it's always worth a shot. Maybe I can swing by Don's tomorrow and have him read the code if he has time.

Did you shut the car off then start it again and wait a minute or two to see if it shuts off?

Thanks Joe......

I shut the car off and let it be for a few minutes then went back to it. I also disconnected the fuses and the battery for a few minutes.

I can't read those codes. Probly know what happened though. You did a nice long burnout with wheel hop and it vibrated the wires on the rear which probly loosened the ABS wiring harness.

Nope I have only done 1 shot and that was last week. I basically just started the car and headed to work this morning after getting gas. Nothing unusual done at all......damn so no reader for this? Please don't tell me it's a dealership only fix!

I'll check them out when I get out of work. Thanks for all the advice guys. I looked under the car really quick before I posted this to check for any random loose wiring and didn't see any, but then again it's never THAT easy.

Good idea.....I will have to do that. Figure I'll try and cover all angles before I blow some big money? Anyone local have a driveway I could use? Doing this on Bedford St. in Fall River could be hazardous to my health!

It's a 12 bolt so more than likely the wires going to the 12 bolt got disconnected. No big deal. You must be use to this--you did own a Stang
