Default Question About Window tinting in PA...

Just wondering if they check your tint when you go to get your car inspected. I'm looking to get my car tinted within the next monht, but i wont do it if it wont pass inspection then.

From what ive heard, MD checks during inspection, and also my uncle failed inspection on his M3 in new jersey because of the tint. So any help would be appricaited...

You'll probably pass inspection but you just have to watch out for some local cops. I got pulled over in Treddyfrin Twp and had to have mine removed. They even used a meter to see what the tint level was.

Yea, I was thinking of getting anywhere between 15%-30%... I wouldnt go any more than 15% just because i dont think limo tint looks good, and night visability/backing up is a concern of mine.

I have never heard that they legalized tint...ever. legal used to be no darker than 35%...thats what i have on my car and i dont get bothered by cops for tint. i never have any trouble at inspection but i work for a dealer so my friends obviously over look a few things. from what i gather from workin here, as long as you can see somewhat inside the car, its passable. but, you can still get pulled over and ticketed for it.

I have limo tint (5%) on my TA. Inspection no longer cares about tint, I have passed since buying the car in 2002.

You will pass inspection but a cop can ticket you for it. Its not an inspection requirement because garages couldnt afford tint meters so its left up to the police to measure and enforce it.
