Dan~ I think you should figure out exactly what combo you want (ie: engine size, power outputs, driveability) and then contact Don. It will make it that much easier for him to work on it with you

40 bucks? Just enough race gas to make you feel safe, up the boost and blow your stock engine.

I'm no mechanic and certainly no engine builder. This is why I am asking for advice. I don't know enough to just say, "this is what I want". I have no friggin idea. All I know is, I don't want to spend a god awful amount of money. I started off just wanting a cam, but now i'm thinking it's not that simple.

Dan~ You must have a idea of what you want. When I went to do my build up I told Don that I wanted to keep it a 4.8l. Do you want to go bigger??? Stay the same?? How fast do you want to go??? First you are talking about building a 400+ cube engine and now you are talking about a cam swap. Damb you change your mind more than a woman

changing from a 364 to a 402/408 is just a matter of changing the crank shaft and pistons correct? I'm going to Dez on monday to be schooled. lol. I would like to spend $5000 or less. I want to have a sick *** daily driver that runs low/mid 12's. I don't want to hear everyone tell me it's gonna blow up anymore, lol. Obviously i'd like 1000rwhp, who wouldn't. but most of us can't afford that. I know I need a cam, that's a given. i am pretty sure i need to go with 60lb injectors, I am told i need stronger rod bolts?, I am also told I should go with dished pistons. That being said, I am also told that while i'm at it I might as well go with a 4" crank. ahhhh, i guess i'll get it all straightened out Monday.

Christ, I'm a pharmacist, what do i need all this power for?

i was just doing some last minute stuff to the truck before going to the dyno tomorrow and noticed my ac belt was hanging on the crank pulley. hmmm, wonder how long it's been like that for. Probably since the day i spun the friggin crank. I think i blew a seal or something in my water pump too.

Just make sure the truck is 100% before coming down or it will be a waste of your $$ and time.

nope. I expected to be mid 400's. oh well. Now i need to think about a new engine i guess. 408 maybe. we'll see. I hope to be running high 11's to low 12's by next fall. I also hope to not be living in a van down by the river.
