Default Who wants to guess my HP?

I'm gonna get to Dez soon to see how much hp i'm actually putting down, but, i tried this online calculator http://www.speedworldmotorplex.com/calc.htm

I don't think it's accurate. It says i'm makine 483rwhp based on trap speed and 510ish based on et. Does that even make sense?

6140lb race weight, 13.35@100.29

I guess we'll find out for sure as soon as i drive my lazy *** the 2hrs down to Seekonk. lol

How many passes (1/4) do you have on your combo? Can you expect that thing to live a long life? (motor and trans.) Motor's a 6.0, right? Those are some impressive et's for a sled that heavy. Anxious to see if it lives. Again, impressive. WJ

I did 10 passes on wed, and probably 20 others over the past few months. I've been driving with 10lbs of boost for about a year now. The methanol really woke this pig up. I'm able to run 16deg of timing with minimal kr. No kr on 100 octane. I don't think the 4L80E is gonna be a problem. I hope not anyway. if it was a 60 I'd be worried. The 6.0L will probably have to be built at some point in the near future. Don already warned me how much it's gonna cost.

ok, that's exactly what i thought. Thanks for the compliment. going up to 15lbs of boost either 10/23 10/28 10/29 or 10/30 at New England Dragway. Weather permitting. Somehow I'm not working any of those days. Maybe Slowhawk should meet me there just incase i break something.

I would think it would take well over 450hp to pull those kinda trap speeds if your truck truely weighs 6100lbs...so im gonna say 470hp to the wheels & probably about the same amount of TQ

i got it weighed a few months ago at the track and was 6314 on their scale. Removed the spare tire and tailgate and got weighed at a local gravel/sand place and weighed 6140. I'm sure the tire/tailgate combo don't weigh 174lbs so one of the scales might be off a little. Either way, it's close. What octane fuel do they sell at NED? What octane should I use on 15lbs boost? I was using Sunoco 100 octane and 16deg timing on 10lbs boost with no KR.

You can get 110 sunoco in hudson at a pump. I think it is 110 maybe 105 but its unleaded. The pump is on west hollis street it think. You can find it on the sunoco website. I wouldnt recommend running too much boost on that engine. Its only stock and it doesnt have the best tune in it right??? I would work on the launch and they set a appointment with Don and show up down there and let the boss do his thing and then let it be. Trust me once you start f'n with a tune or setup like these after they have been tuned to perfection it spells

The sunoco in Lee sells 100 octane at the pump. $5.89/gal. That's what i've been using at the track. A local bike place sells whatever VPracing fuel you could possibly want. 100 octane is probably all I want/need though right?

I think my tune is damn close these days. No KR on 10lbs boost, 10.X:1 afr at WOT and all (-) ltrims.

I'm gathering info now on a 408 longblock. shhh, don't tell the wife. $$$$

New best tonight. 13.066 @101.88 Spun bad off the line in 4wd and let off the gas just before the finish because i heard a horrible noise. don't know what it was/is.

I ran 15lbs boost on 18deg timing and had no KR. I did lose fuel pressure though and that's not cool at all. also blew my friggin boost line off under the dash and i think i got methanol in the boost gauge. it ain't working anymore. damn it. Now the truck is making a really fucked up noise when i give it any boost at all. No idea what it is. very strange sound.

Sure is a nice truck you have there. Moving right along for a 6300lb. vehicle. Good luck with getting it all dialed in and finding out what your new strange noise is!

the noise turned out to be the balancer spinning on the crank shaft. OOPS!!! I pinned it with a kit i got from magnacharger. worked like a charm and took all of 45min start to finish.

Cool, did you ever get it dyno'd? I guess just shy of 500hp to pull those times with that heavy of a truck. My Lightning was making 460hp and running 12.3 in the heat, at a weight of 4700lbs.

I tried calling Dez a few times today to set up a dyno time but couldn't get thru. I'm sure they are very busy. I'll call again tomorrow. I need to meet with Don anyway about my plan for my truck.

Danali, my calculations say ur making anywhere from 507-510 at the flywheel. the 6.0 is perhaps one of GM's strongest motors. They have been out since 2000 and to this date our dealership has only done 1 job regarding the engine blown or major problems, those engines can take some abuse. Im not sure how long the tranny will hold up moving that much weight so fast but it hasnt brokin yet so thats a good sign. and no need to worry about the transfer case breaking. the only thing that might break on a 6.0 when adding boost is the rods, i would put some nice racing ones in there, and while ur in the motor why not a cam and rockers. they say rockers will give the 5.3 and 6.0 20 horse.
