Default LOTS of respect for LVD

I went to LVD sunday, holy crap busy as hell. It was chaotic. Anyway, they were running things VERY smoothly, but there were a rediculous amount of breaks which slowed things down a lot. Track seemed to be hooking great for everyone (of course my first and only run i launched the car like a little girl). Well, we were only able to make one run because not too far after the first run i made, 2 rail cars had a crazy crash at the end of the track, thank god they were okay. That was pretty nuts. Of course that took about 45 minutes to clean up, and by that time is was about 2:30ish? They were trying hard to clean up the track since water was seeping on it due to all the rain we had. They announced that they could only do 1/8th by then, but unlike NED, they offered to sign the back of the ticket stubs so we could use that as a rain check, and that was at 2:30ish!! God, NED opens the 1/8th for the day and doesn't give any kind of refund/raincheck. I thought that was very professional of LVD, hopefully next year will be better . They ran a few junior dragsters after they opened the 1/8th and gave the rainchecks. everyone by then was basically gone, but shortly after they ended up closing the track because the water was getting bad and their prep stuff wouldnt stick to the track because it was too cold. They did have this pretty crazy car run towards the end (i want to say he only ran the 60' mark, I think he was working on his license). I took some pics, here u go.
My car and Andy's car (there was soo much room for us to park)

that crazy loud car:

notice the people blocking their ears, that thing could make you go deaf

Yeah, notice they changed their format to 1/8 mile AFTER the crash. You call that being very professional? That's like closing the barn door after the horse runs away....1 run for the WHOLE DAY? BTW, how many times have you been to the track in your drag racing career? WJ (NED fan).

Thats too bad, but cool of them to give you your money back. Guess I got kind of lucky ending up at Etown Friday with the way things worked out since I had originally planned to go to LVD Sunday. Though watching the Jints kick the **** out of the Skins 36-0 in person is probably near as good a feeling as turning my first 11 sec pass would be

Realize i got there at 11:00 (gates opened at 8) and I spent my sweet time finding somewhere to park, changing my tires, and eating some sandwiches. It got windy thats why that one guy lost control at the end. And ive been to the track maybe 5 or 6 times, I know i am a noobie, you don't have to rub that in. I am trying hard. I am also 19, so maybe by the time I am your age I will be an expert and know everything and be the big time judge, ok? I just thought it was respectable that they gave a refund for the whole day, which they lost money on to make their customers happy. NED never does that.

Well, my bud with the SRT4 was going to Etown with an SRT4 contingent, and convinced me to give it a shot. I was probably one of the 5 loudest cars there but they didn't boot me. Had a hard time figuring out the track, spun my first 2 times, then dead hooked and bogged my 3rd, so all my 60s were 2.0s And I was breaking loose on the 1-2 shift, and chirping on the 2-3, so the track was kinda slick. Trapped well in the cool air though, crack 117 on one pass. But ended up with 12.4, 12.6, and 12.5. Only got 3 passes, apparently it was the most crowded Friday of the season...damn my luck.

I'd like to get one more trip to Island or Etown before the end of the season.

Yah, Saturday was brutally cold, I was doing yardwork and stuff outside the house, and I think the high was in the low 40s, and I'm about 1 hour south of LVD. Sunday must've been a beautiful day for racing.

I do not consider myself to be "the big time judge", young lady. BTW, many racers over the past years have received refunds and full-day return checks(keep your ticket and it will be honored anytime when you return to the track) from NED. I just can't figure why you're slamming NED w/your limited amount of times there, although you surely are entitled to your opinion. Denali just recieved a refund from NED last week...Good luck w/your racing at whichever track you choose. WJ

Lol I feel your pain...If ya ever learn the secret let me in on it. Though I know next season I'm done F'n with drag radials, just going with a true slick. But hell of an impressive trap. That car is making some big power!

i have no problems with NED or anything, I am just saying the facts that I went to NED, paid full admission, and only ran the 1/8th. I went to LVD, paid full admission, ran the 1/4, and got a raincheck. I wasnt trying to say that NED is bad or anything, I just repest LVD for that. NED is 3.5 hours from me, LVD is 1 hour 15 minutes, hence why I go there a lot. If it were the other way around, I would go to NED much more. NED has a cheaper admission. Every track has its pros and cons I just dont want you thinking I am a NED hater or something

I am cool w/that, Steph. Also, I am proud of what you've accomplished in your young career, both school wise and w/your very nice car, the improvements you've made to it, and your continued improvements at the track... You've done exceptionally well in a short period of time--next season you'll see more big improvements at the track, with the confidence and skills that more seat time brings. Best wishes. WJ
