Default Finally hit the 12's!

I finally accomplished my goal & busted (not literally) into the 12's at Cecil on the 19th.

It took 3 attempts, which is all I could get in for runs from 11 AM to 4 PM being to much breakage was going on.

My 1st run sucked big time.
I had the ET streets on & set for 18 psi.
Cecil was prepped with VHT so when I launched at 3500 it bogged but I still managed to cut a 2.074 60'.

Then it wouldn't go into 3rd, which is not the 1st time that's happened so I think I'll dump the Pro 5 & start looking for a different shifter next year.

I ended up finishing that run at 14.362 @ 83.66.

Yeah, my Dodge pals made fun of me.

Next run, a whopping 2 hrs 9 minutes later, I bogged again even though I launched it 4500 to cut a 2.108 60'.
I shifted fine, but not as fast as I normally can as I was "afraid" to jam it & have it not go into 3rd again.
I ran a 13.188 @ 108.07, which all 3 stats were now new personal bests.

The last run of the day, 1 hour & 7 minutes after the 2nd run, I accomplished my goal for the year.

I launched at 5500, cut a 1.999 light, ran 12.952 @ 108.63, & now all 3 stats are new bests.
I didn't get a chance to back up the 12.xx with another 12.xx, but looking at the #'s it's not a fluke doesn't need backing up.
I just need more seat time with my new setup & that 12.9 will drop even more.

And of course I got "busted" by my Dodge pals again as that run I was up against an SRT-4, sponsored & built by Forward Motion.
He ran a 12.708 @ 109.86.

I also called Don & left a message telling him I hit my goal & that the new SPEC3+ clutch, line lock & re tune were all working OK.

Not bad at all. I wouldn't blame it on the Pro 5.0 though. We all have our own oppinions, but as far as I'm concerned, it's the best.

I powershift 3rd no matter where or what I'm running. The pro 5.0 has the best feel out of all of them, and I wouldn't swap it for any other.

Congrats on breaking the 12 second barrier

Cecil this time of year is a good place to go for an attempt at a new best, this mid/late fall air, and the altitude at that place is probably a good .4 over LVD in the middle of the summer.

Congrats for making the trip down.

Next season you will get that little Dodge 4 banger, Butch. If it's any consolation, I'd bet that thing will blow up LONG before you have any problems engine wise w/your LS1... You need to get some low 1.8 sixties to eliminate that little SRT-4. Congrats on the 12 sec. pass... WJ

A cam swap is in order now.. and weight removal, drop another second off that, lose zero drivability or reliability. Or, take an easier route, spray it and get the same results, with zero drivability loss.

Not sure what you are trying to beat, but if it's just a neon, that could be done as it sits now on the street..... no fwd car will ever hook for **** on unprepped road.

Add a 100 dry, or a 150 wet shot and be done with it..

Thanks guys!
Thanks to Don for getting me there with the work & thanks to Keith for my new sig pic.

Jason, what I was trying to beat was my way out of the 13's & into the 12's & not trying to beat any car per se'.

My goal has always been to have this as a 12 sec F-body, no more as it's also my DD & I don't plan on putting a cage in it.

I plan on making it quick enough so it's just to the point to where it'd need a cage & then I'll stop.

Hell.. the car's ready, the driver is ready now... put some power to that thing and have some fun with it! 1200 bucks a decent wet kit, or a cam and all needed parts could go in... and either would easily whack nearly a second, or more off that at the same track on the same day.... right to the edge of cage land.
